A new Holiday Inn resort is coming to the beautiful beach destination of Pattaya, Thailand, next year.

Here’s what you need to know about this new property.

Holiday Inn Resort Pattaya Opens Next Year

IHG announced on June 23, 2023, that it had signed a deal for the Holiday Inn Resort Pattaya, which is scheduled to open in late 2024 after undergoing a complete transformation.

While much is still unknown about the property, the family-friendly resort will have 318 rooms and suites and 3 restaurants. True to the Holiday Inn brand, the resort will have KidsSuite rooms (these rooms have a kids’ room connected to a separate bedroom for adults), and will participate in the Kids Stay & Eat Free program.

The resort will be located just an hour’s drive from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) and 30 minutes from U-Taopao International Airport (UTP).

“We are continuing to expand the well-loved Holiday Inn brand, especially in resort locations across Thailand,” said Saowarin Chanprakaisi, Senior Director of South East Asia and Korea development at IHG.

“Pattaya is a fantastic destination where IHG is already a market leader thanks to wonderful properties, including InterContinental Pattaya, Holiday Inn Pattaya, Holiday Inn Express Pattaya Central, and the upcoming Kimpton Pattaya,” Chanprakaisi continued.

Indeed, this news comes amid a massive expansion for IHG brands in Thailand, with 34 hotels open and another 37 in the pipeline.

And IHG recently inked deals for 2 more Holiday Inn Resorts in Thailand, the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Surin Beach and Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Karon Beach.

Booking IHG Hotels in Thailand

If you’re interested in using points for your next vacation, you’ll find several IHG hotels in Thailand across a range of brands, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Kimpton, and Hotel Indigo.

And rates are typically reasonable, especially for a popular destination like Thailand.

For instance, rates at the InterContinental Bangkok start at 37,000 points per night for dates this October, while rates at the Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach start at just 10,000 points per night.

IHG offers 3 credit cards — 2 personal and 1 business — all issued by Chase. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

IHG is continuing its expansion in Thailand with the opening of a new resort opening at the end of 2024. While we still don’t know much about the resort, any hotel announcement is fantastic news for travelers, especially if it’s a hotel at which points can be used. In the meantime, check out IHG’s other resorts in Thailand!
