Do you have a World of Hyatt co-branded card in your wallet?

If you do, listen up — there’s a sweet new promotion out there that can get you points back on your next award stay. Here’s a look at all the details.

New 20% Rebate on Award Nights at Independent Collection Hotels

If you have a Hyatt co-branded card, you can register now for a new promotion that offers a 20% rebate on award stays at Independent Collection hotels.

Anyone who holds The World of Hyatt Credit Card or the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is eligible for the offer. You’ll need to register by July 31, 2022, and complete your stays between July 5 and September 5, 2022.

The following brands are part of Hyatt’s Independent Collection:

  • Destination by Hyatt
  • Jdv By Hyatt
  • The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

Note that the promotion is a rebate, not a discount. That means you’ll need to have a sufficient number of points in your account for an award night, and then you’ll receive a rebate 6 weeks after completing your stay.

World of Hyatt card and World of Hyatt Business cardholders can receive the 20% rebate on free night awards, Points + Cash stays, room upgrades, dining and spa services at Destination by Hyatt, JdV by Hyatt, and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt hotels.

Also, remember that guests can earn a maximum of 30,000 World of Hyatt points back with this offer.

Where To Stay

Between the 3 brands, you have more than 100 hotels in the U.S., Central America, Europe, and Asia to choose from. Many are higher-category properties, but if you want to really maximize the deal, you may want to consider a lower-category stay.

Hyatt recently moved to peak-and-off-peak pricing, where the cost of award nights can vary by demand or season. While that pushed the price of awards up for peak nights, it also pushed rates down for off-peak nights. And the best properties to take advantage of this promotion can be found at Category 1 hotels.

Off-peak award nights at Category 1 properties can cost as few as 3,500 points per night. The JdV by Hyatt and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brands together have a few Category 1 hotels, which are listed below:

JdV by Hyatt:

The Unbound Collection by Hyatt:

As an eligible cardholder, if you booked an off-peak night at 3,500 points per night, your rate (after the rebate) would be just 2,800 points per night!

Or, if you want to splurge, you can choose Category 6 properties and above. For instance, the Magma Resort Santorini in Greece starts at 30,000 World of Hyatt points per night. After the rebate, your room would cost just 24,000 points per night.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been planning to check out Destination by Hyatt, JdV by Hyatt, or The Unbound Collection by Hyatt hotels, now is the perfect time to do so. There are dozens worldwide, and with competitive rates at some lower-category properties, you can get award stays for bargain rates. Just make sure to register by July 31, 2022.
