As of May 2, 2026, Spirit Airlines has officially ceased operations, and JetBlue has quickly stepped in to replace a handful of routes Spirit operated out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

Here are the full details of the new JetBlue routes and when they will begin operating.

JetBlue Adds New Routes at FLL

Spirit Airlines had a large presence at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), accounting for nearly 30% of the airport’s traffic. Now that Spirit has gone out of business, JetBlue is launching 11 new routes from FLL, with flights beginning between July and November at varying frequencies depending on the route.

Here is the full list of new routes JetBlue will soon be operating from Fort Lauderdale:

Beginning July 9, 2026

Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) 3x daily
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) 3x daily
Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) 3x daily
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) 2x daily
Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) 2x daily
Nashville International Airport (BNA) 2x daily
Mercedita International Airport (PSE), serving Ponce, Puerto Rico, 1x daily

Beginning October 1, 2026

Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport (BAQ) serving Barranquilla, Colombia, 1x daily

Beginning October 15, 2026

Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO), serving Cali, Colombia, 1x daily

Beginning November 2, 2026

John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) 1x daily
Indianapolis International Airport (IND) 1x daily

This will mark the first flights for JetBlue to Barranquilla, Baltimore, Cali, Charlotte, Columbus, and Indianapolis, while improving its market share out of FLL, a key market for the airline.

If the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is your local airport, and you’re mulling over your options now that Spirit is no more, you might find yourself more dependent on JetBlue for many routes.

JetBlue previously held the second-largest market share at FLL and is now strongly positioned to become the largest carrier at the airport.
