You can earn TrueBlue points without flying, thanks to the latest JetBlue promotion. JetBlue and IHG are offering bonus points on hotel stays through November, and you’ll earn more points on longer stays.

Let’s check out the details of this new offer.

JetBlue and IHG Promotion — Details

If you weren’t aware, you can choose to earn JetBlue TrueBlue points when staying with IHG Hotels and Resorts. Rather than earning IHG One Rewards points, you can boost your JetBlue balance with these hotel stays.

If you’re interested in earning TrueBlue points instead of IHG One Rewards points, head to your profile settings in your IHG account and change your earning preference.

For those who choose to earn JetBlue points on IHG stays, this latest offer provides up to 3,000 bonus points per stay. You’ll earn 1,000 bonus points on stays of 1 or 2 nights and 3,000 bonus points on stays of 3+ nights. You can earn a maximum of 15,000 bonus JetBlue points through this promotion.

Bonus points are in addition to the JetBlue points you’ll normally earn on IHG stays. That’s 2x points per $1 spent at most IHG brands. However, you’ll earn 1x points per $1 spent at Candelwood and Staybridge Suites properties and a flat 500 points at InterContinental Alliance Resorts in Las Vegas and Macao.

Registration is required for this offer, and eligible stays run from September 4 to November 30, 2024.

Here are some important terms you need to know for this offer:

  • Checking out and checking in again at the same hotel on the following day won’t count as a new stay to earn more bonus points
  • You must book directly with IHG for stays to qualify
  • Only stays after registration for the promotion will earn bonus points
  • Allow up to 6 weeks for the bonus points to arrive in your account.
Bottom Line:

You’ll earn 3,000 points on stays of 3+ nights or 1,000 points on shorter stays, up to a maximum of 15,000 JetBlue points with this offer. Take note that you won’t earn any IHG points on these stays if you do this.

Is It Worth It?

Should you choose to earn JetBlue points instead of earning IHG points on hotel stays? That depends.

Do you stay with IHG infrequently, meaning you won’t really earn many points and will struggle to get enough points for a redemption? If that’s the case, earning something more useful for you will make sense, with or without this promotion.

Should you change your earning preferences during this promotion? It’s unlikely to be worth it. We value JetBlue points at 1.3 cents each. That means earning 3,000 JetBlue points is worth $39. Consider if that’s worth more than what you’ll earn at IHG normally (10 points per dollar for guests without elite status), and factor in any IHG promotions you can leverage on your upcoming stay.

It’s also worth pointing out another promotion, offering bonus Miles & More miles on IHG stays through December 31, 2024.

Final Thoughts

Through November 30, you can earn up to 15,000 bonus JetBlue TrueBlue points on IHG stays, assuming you set your earning preference as JetBlue points instead of IHG points. You can earn up to 3,000 points per stay, as long as the stays are 3 or more nights apiece. Otherwise, you’ll earn 1,000 points per night. If you’re interested in this offer, remember to register first.
