Marriott has announced the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Berlin.
This new JW Marriott property is actually not a new hotel at all, but rather a re-flag of the former Hotel Berlin Central District.
Here’s what you need to know about this new Marriott option in the German capital.
JW Marriott Has More than 500 Rooms
The 505-room JW Marriott Hotel Berlin features a whopping 8 dining options, including a steakhouse and a cigar bar. However, this hotel is still a work in progress — Marriott says the property will be fully transformed in 2025, which will include a complete renovation of all guest rooms.
JW Marriott is one of the hotel chain’s most exclusive brands, falling under the “classic luxury” umbrella, along with heavyweights such as The Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis. The JW Marriott brand, which has 100 hotels in nearly 3 dozen countries, caters to “sophisticated, mindful travelers,” according to the chain.
The JW Marriott Hotel Berlin becomes just the second JW Marriott property in Germany, after the JW Marriott Hotel Frankfurt.
“JW Marriott blends a legacy of extraordinary hospitality with a modern commitment to mindfulness and well-being that is so important to today’s luxury traveler,” said Bruce Rohr, JW Marriott’s Global Brand Leader, in a statement.
Rohr went on to say that the JW Marriott Berlin “brings these pillars to life” by offering amenities such as a garden, 2 fitness centers, a pool, and a spa. Other amenities include nearly 50 event spaces, including the largest ballroom in Berlin.
How To Book
The hotel will participate in the Marriott Bonvoy program, which means travelers can earn and redeem points at the property.
As far as JW Marriott properties go, you’ll find reasonable award rates at this hotel. Rates start at just 30,000 points per night for dates throughout February and March 2023.
If you’re low on Marriott Bonvoy points, you’re in luck because they are among the easiest hotel points currencies out there to earn.
Marriott is also a Chase hotel partner and an Amex hotel partner at a 1:1 ratio. Additionally, purchases with merchants like Uber and dining spending can earn you a nice chunk of Marriott Bonvoy points.
Travelers who are fans of Marriott’s higher-end brands have a new, competitively priced option in Europe with the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Berlin. While the entire renovation isn’t expected to be completed for a few years, this is still a great option if you want to stretch your points in Germany’s capital!
