Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

We’ve written extensively about how to maximize status matches for Las Vegas (and beyond), which has always included leveraging MGM’s matching program to get ahead.

Although it’s been available for years, the program recently implemented a termination date of June 30, 2023.

Now, as reported by MilesTalk, we’re finding out that the match term has been extended by 1 month — as has the validity of status for everyone who’s recently matched.

Let’s take a look at all the details.

MGM’s Status Matches

MGM Tier Match

Currently, those who have elite status from a number of different programs can make their way to an MGM Rewards desk and receive a match. Previously, the tier match program was only valid through June 2023. Now, however, the date has been extended such that you’ll receive an extra month.

This means that anyone interested in matching will now have until July 31, 2023, to head to an eligible MGM location and complete the match.

This extension also applies to those who have already matched. While previously matched status was limited to June 30, 2023, members are now receiving emails letting them know that their status has been extended by an additional month.

Status Matching From Caesars Diamond

Want to get MGM Gold status but only have Caesars Diamond (say, from the Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card)?

MGM no longer allows those with Caesars Diamond status to match to MGM Gold, but there are 2 workarounds to this, depending on where you’re located.

If you’re in Atlantic City, you can match your Caesars Diamond status to MGM by following this route:

  • Caesars Diamond to Hard Rock Unity Icon
  • Hard Rock Unity Icon to Ocean Prime
  • Ocean Prime to MGM Gold

If you’re on the West Coast, Milestalk has detailed a match route that goes like this:

  • Caesars Diamond to Harrah’s Resort Southern California
  • Harrah’s to Club Sycuan Elite
  • Club Syucan Elite to Club Barona Platinum
  • Club Barona Platinum to MGM Gold
Hot Tip:

If you’re in Las Vegas, head over to the Mirage to take advantage of a status match to Hard Rock Icon status. You’ll get $100 in free food credits or $50 in free slot play!

Final Thoughts

This extension is great news for anyone looking to get in on MGM’s status match program while it’s still available. That being said, you’ll need to visit an MGM Rewards desk in person in order to make the match. Thanks to this new development, you’ll be able to do so until July 31, 2023.
