MGM has entered into an agreement for the MGM Shanghai West Bund property to be located in Shanghai’s popular Central Activity Zone (CAZ).
Here’s what we know so far about this latest addition to MGM’s growing portfolio.
MGM Shanghai West Bund To Expand MGM’s China Portfolio
The MGM Shanghai West Bund will feature 161 guest rooms and 58 suites, including an expansive presidential suite.
The hotel will also host a Chinese fine dining restaurant showcasing Diaoyutai cuisine and an Italian restaurant with an authentic pizza oven. A rooftop bar with river views is sure to become a hot spot.
MGM says the MGM Shanghai West Bund’s spa will be one of the largest in the city, and guests can expect Vegas-inspired entertainment programs, including live performances and artwork exhibitions.
“This is our first MGM city hotel to be opened in mainland China and our second time to hit the market in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in all of China,” Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality president and director Fred Zhou said in a statement.
“This pivotal signing highlights our commitment to expand our portfolio, and we are confident that MGM Shanghai West Bund will be the most energetic art and entertainment destination in the city,” Zhou continued.
MGM operates more than 30 properties in the U.S. and China. The chain has 5 hotels and 3 residences under various brands across China, including Beijing and Chengdu:
