For flights, the strongest options are United MileagePlus and British Airways Club, both of which transfer 1:1 from Chase.

United Airlines flies to Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International (MEX) from multiple U.S. hubs. United uses dynamic pricing (meaning price depends on demand), but Saver-level economy awards to Mexico remain among the cheapest in the program and are worth targeting.

Redeeming United miles should price as follows:

• From Houston (IAH): Round-trip economy Saver awards run as few as 20,000 miles
• From Chicago (ORD) or Los Angeles (LAX): Expect 25,000–30,000 miles round-trip

Redeeming British Airways Avios is a compelling alternative, especially if American Airlines has nonstop service from your home airport. British Airways prices its partner awards by distance rather than dynamically, which works in your favor on short- to medium-distance flights like this one.

• For most cities within 2,000 miles of MEX, including Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Dallas (DFW), and Miami (MIA), flights fall into Zone 3 pricing: 36,000 Avios round-trip (18,000 each way)

World of Hyatt has the strongest hotel options in Mexico City, even accounting for the new 4:3 transfer ratio.

The Andaz Mexico City Condesa is my top pick. It’s in Condesa — one of the best neighborhoods to base yourself in — and the property earns the Andaz design-forward reputation. It’s a Category 4 Hyatt, and the new 5-tier award pricing means you pay 12,000 to 25,000 points per night — with 15,000 or 20,000 points being the most common nightly rates.

With the 4:3 ratio from the recent Chase Sapphire Preferred card refresh, those numbers require transferring 20,000 to 27,000 Ultimate Rewards points. Booking 3 nights at the 15,000-point rate requires transferring 60,000 points. Cash rates at this hotel regularly run $250 to $350 per night, so the value is real.

The Hyatt Regency Mexico City in Polanco is the more budget-conscious Hyatt. It’s a Category 3 property, and while it’s more of a business hotel, it’s well located and well run. Award nights range from 8,000 to 20,000 Hyatt points, with 12,000- and 15,000-point nights being among the most common. Under the new 4:3 transfer ratio, that works out to about 16,000 or 20,000 Ultimate Rewards points per night, meaning a 3-night stay generally requires 48,000 to 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points.

Wyndham Rewards uses fixed-tier pricing, which makes the math simple. Most Mexico City properties, including the BelAir Unique, a Wyndham Hotel, run 15,000 Wyndham points per night. Since Wyndham transfers 1:1 from Chase, a 3-night stay would cost 45,000 Ultimate Rewards points. It’s the budget-friendly tier of the bunch.
