The tiny Gulf nation of Oman has attracted much interest from travelers in recent years, and as a result of its newfound popularity, there has been a boom in lodging options across the country.

Marriott, which already has several properties in the country, has expanded again in Oman with the opening of The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about this brand-new luxury property in the Omani capital.

The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort Now Open for Guests

The opening of The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort marks the brand’s debut in Oman. The resort is located within the exclusive waterfront Al Mouj neighborhood and provides guests easy access to many of the country’s top sites, including the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the Al Hajar Mountains, Wadi Shab, and the Daymaniyat Islands.

“The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort heralds a new beacon of resort glamour to Oman. We are excited to welcome both local and international guests seeking unparalleled luxury to experience the first St. Regis in the country,” said Tarek Mourad, general manager, The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort.

This new luxury property also boasts 250 guest rooms and suites, in addition to villas with 1 to 3 bedrooms. The design pays homage to Oman’s landscape, employing ocean-blue and tan palettes accentuated with local stone and artwork from Omani and international artists and craftspeople.

Each room features views of the ocean, the golf course, or the city from private balconies, as well as walk-in closets, expansive bathrooms, and plenty of light streaming in from floor-to-ceiling windows. Of course, guests can expect St. Regis Butler Service, a signature feature of the brand, at this property.

There are a total of 10 places to eat and/or drink on this property that serve a diverse array of cuisines from around the world:

  • Hakkasan: Internationally recognized Cantonese cuisine
  • Em Sherif: A Lebanese fine-dining concept
  • Roberto’s: Italian cuisine with a focus on seafood
  • COYA: Peruvian cuisine and pisco-based cocktails
  • Novikov Café: A brasserie serving Mediterranean-inspired dishes with Asian, French, and Italian influences
  • Karibu: Omani/Zanzibari fusion
  • Zorba: Greek cuisine
  • The Lounge: The spot to enjoy a local take on the St. Regis Afternoon Tea service
  • Sukkar: Serves desserts and other sweet treats
  • The Stage: Serves craft cocktails with inspiration from the King Cole Bar at The St. Regis New York
