Marriott has announced that it will open a St. Regis property in Xiamen, a port city on the southeast coast of China, in 2027.
Let’s dive right in!
Marriott Debuting Luxury St. Regis Brand in China’s Fujian Province
The St. Regis Xiamen will have more than 250 rooms and suites with coastal views. Amenities will include a fitness center, swimming pool, spa, children’s club, and nearly 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
The hotel will have 5 dining options, including an all-day dining experience, a restaurant with Chinese cuisine, and a Drawing Room and St. Regis Bar, found at St. Regis properties. Furthermore, the hotel plans to open its doors for guests in 2027.
Like other St. Regis properties, guests will have access to the St. Regis Signature Butler Service. Your designated butler during your stay will be your main point of contact, handling tasks such as packing (and unpacking) luggage or arranging coffee and tea service in your room upon arrival.
Marriott said Xiamen’s role as one of the most important cities in Southeast China made it an “ideal location” for a St. Regis property.
“We are delighted to be working with Shengyuan Cultural Tourism to open The St. Regis Xiamen, which will offer our guests the opportunity to enjoy the iconic brand’s exquisite lifestyle and timeless traditions,” said Yibing Mao, President of Greater China at Marriott International.
How to Book Marriott Properties in China With Points
While we wait for The St. Regis Xiamen to open, it’s worth noting that Marriott already has a sweeping presence across China with 12 existing St. Regis hotels and resorts across Greater China. These include The St. Regis Beijing, available starting at 37,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, or The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan, starting at 33,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, both for dates this summer.
That may seem like a lot of points, but Marriott Bonvoy points are among the easiest hotel points to earn.
As China relaxes restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic, international travel is starting to pick back up in the country. And while we wait for the St. Regis Xiamen to open, take a look at Marriott’s other luxury hotels in China!
