For anyone with a United Airlines credit card who wants to boost their miles balance, there’s good news. United is emailing select cardholders with an offer to earn up to 15,000 bonus miles on purchases through December 15, 2026.

This is a targeted offer, but we’ll cover the offer and how to check your eligibility. Let’s break down the details.

United Airlines Cardholder Offers

As a United credit card holder, you can register for the promotion here. This page requires you to provide the last 4 digits of your credit card and MileagePlus number. If your card qualifies for the promotion, the next page will show your targeted offer.

An Upgraded Points team member was targeted on her United℠ Explorer Card, while a team member with the United Gateway℠ Card wasn’t eligible for any offers.

Offers we’re seeing include these:

4,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000
4,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000
4,000 bonus miles plus 450 Premier Qualifying Points after spending $8,000
5,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000
8,000 bonus miles after spending $6,000
8,000 bonus miles after spending $12,000
10,000 bonus miles after spending $8,000
15,000 bonus miles after spending $21,000

If you have an offer, you might wonder whether the spending requirement is worth. We value United Airlines miles at 1.2 cents each, making 7,000 miles worth $84. Using that same math, 15,000 miles are worth $180 — not much after spending $21,000. That’s less than a 1% return.

All miles you earn for this promotion are in addition to the miles you’d normally earn from your card spend.

To receive bonus miles, you must register by December 15. After registering, each qualifying purchase you make between October 1 and December 31, 2026, will apply toward the spending requirement.

Bottom Line:

An easy way to meet the spending required in this offer is by putting recurring expenses — like streaming subscriptions, cell phone bills, or grocery runs — on your United co-branded credit card. This way, you’ll hit the requirement without adding extra purchases.

What Cards Are Eligible?

The promotion’s terms and conditions do not specify which United credit cards are eligible for the promotion, but if you hold any co-branded United credit card, including business cards, chances are you qualify. If you have any of the following cards, you should check if your account is eligible:

Final Thoughts

While we usually don’t recommend putting daily expenses on a United credit card — you should use your best card for everyday spending instead — if you’re looking to boost your balance of United miles or have the chance to earn extra Premier Qualifying Points, this promotion could be useful.

There’s no reason not to register for this promotion. If you don’t meet the spending requirement, you don’t lose anything. If you do hit it, you get your reward. And anyone who uses points or miles knows that a reward is never worth passing up if you’re going to spend the money anyway.
