Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

The schlep from the West Coast over to Europe is long, so it makes sense that you don’t want to do it in economy. But with business-class pricing through the roof, sometimes a better solution is the middle ground: premium economy.

With more recline and better legroom, premium economy provides a happy compromise for those long-haul flights.

Better yet, we’ve found premium economy flights for just $669 round-trip from the West Coast to airports all over Europe.

Let’s take a look!

Fare Deal — Details

It’s actually pretty rare to find good pricing from the West Coast over to Europe, especially when it comes to countries like France and Italy. Without a ton of routes and with a ton of demand, airlines don’t typically need to offer sales.

Now, thanks to a fare sale from Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), you’ll be able to get all the way to Europe and back for under $700. That’s half as much as usual! And since SAS isn’t a low-cost carrier, your meals and bags are also included.

  • Class: Premium economy
  • Routes: Los Angeles (LAX), Seattle (SEA), and San Francisco (SFO) to Rome (FCO), Zurich (ZRH), Copenhagen (CPH), Milan (MXP), Athens (ATH), Barcelona (BCN), Stockholm (ARN), Bergen (BGO), Dubrovnik (DBV), Madrid (MAD), and Paris (CDG)
  • Dates: August to October 2025
  • Rates: As low as $699 round-trip

To find flights for your dates, we recommend heading over to Google Flights. The site has a fare calendar that helps you spot cheap dates. Although these dates are somewhat limited, you can still find plenty of availability.

Note that although the calendar shows $729 as the cheapest, it drops to $699 after clicking through.

You’ll find the lowest rates from Seattle (SEA) to Zurich (ZRH) at $699.

You can also find some really good prices out of Los Angeles (LAX) at $769.

Best Ways To Book

The cheapest way to book these flights is via an online travel agency (OTA). Although it can be a hassle to make changes or cancellations when using a third party to book (as opposed to booking directly with the airline), it can save you some money.

To maximize the rewards that you earn, use a card such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, which earns you 3x Ultimate Rewards points per $1 spent on all travel and offers trip cancellation and interruption insurance to boot.

Final Thoughts

Flights from the West Coast over to Europe are usually pretty expensive, thanks to high demand throughout the year — and a long distance. However, SAS’s fare sale lets travelers from southern California, the Bay Area, and the Pacific Northwest fly to cities all over Europe for as little as $699 round-trip. It doesn’t get much better than that!
