World of Hyatt

The previous offer on this card provided 60,000 bonus points, Discoverist status (the lowest tier), and required $5,000 of spending in 3 months. Thus, the key differences are the higher status and the higher spending requirement.

The Explorist status earned through this promotion will be good through February 28, 2026.

We value Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each, which means the points from this offer are worth about $900. That, coupled with the benefits of Explorist status, makes for a nice bonus.

Benefits of the World of Hyatt Business Card

The World of Hyatt Business card can be a great option for earning Hyatt points. It earns up to 9x points at Hyatt (5x points from being a World of Hyatt member and 4x points at Hyatt hotels), 2x points at fitness clubs and on gym memberships, and 2x points for your top 3 spending categories each quarter:

  • Airline tickets purchased directly from the airline
  • Car rental agencies
  • Dining
  • Gas stations
  • Internet, cable, and phone services
  • Local transit and commuting
  • Shipping
  • Social media and search engine advertising

Additionally, this card comes with perks like automatic Hyatt Discoverist status, $100 in Hyatt credits each anniversary year ($50 statement credits, up to 2 times per year), and 5 elite night credits for every $10,000 spent in a calendar year. You also get membership in Hyatt Leverage with perks for business owners, and you can qualify for a 10% points redemption rebate after spending $50,000 on the card in a calendar year.

That means you can actually spend your way to top-tier Hyatt Globalist status with this card. (It would take a whopping $120,000 in spend, though.)

Is This a Good Deal?

This is a unique offer, as we haven’t previously seen Hyatt elite status included in any welcome offers for this card.

The 60,000 bonus points is the typical welcome bonus offer (usually requiring $5,000 spending in 3 months). So, when evaluating this offer, you might want to think of it as getting Hyatt Explorist status for an additional $2,000 in spending.

If you value Hyatt elite status, it might be worth it, especially if you’ve been considering this card anyway. However, keep in mind that this card already comes with automatic Discoverist status, so you’ll really want to look at the incremental benefits you’d receive with the higher Explorist status:

  • 20% points bonus versus 10% points bonus
  • Room upgrades, including suites and Club access rooms, instead of upgrades that only include a preferred room within the same category (basically, a room with a better view)
  • Ability to use Hyatt points to buy American Airlines Gold or Platinum status for a day
  • Guaranteed availability within 72 hours

Remember that if you earn Hyatt status with a promotion like this one, you won’t get Hyatt Milestone Rewards. You must still earn the required number of elite nights or base points to be eligible for those.

Final Thoughts

There’s a new elevated welcome bonus on the World of Hyatt Business card. From now through June 30, 2025, you can earn 60,000 points and Hyatt Explorist status after spending $7,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.

While this isn’t significantly better than the standard offer, if you value Hyatt elite status, this could be a good time to apply for this card, which also offers a great way to earn lots of Hyatt points.
