LTI’s Top Luxury Hotel Brands of 2025

LTI’s annual report on the top luxury brands is facilitated by an assessment process that includes over 130 touchpoints deemed key to the experience at a luxury hotel. Each is assigned a weighted score with a maximum possible score of 4,663 points.

LTI’s method focuses more on the brand-at-large’s performance, rather than on individual properties. Evaluation factors include the brand’s ability to maintain its “passion, commitment, ethos, and values,” the caliber of management and property staff, and investments regarding new properties and the renovation of existing ones.

Here’s the full list for 2025, along with the change in position from 2024 (if applicable):

  1. Mandarin Oriental
  2. Aman (up from 5)
  3. Bulgari (down from 2)
  4. Oetker Collection (down from 3)
  5. Rosewood (up from 8)
  6. Four Seasons (up from 12)
  7. Six Senses (down from 4)
  8. Auberge Resorts (up from 10)
  9. Rocco Forte (down from 7)
  10. One&Only (down from 6)
  11. Belmond (down from 9)
  12. Dorchester Collection (down from 11)
  13. Peninsula Hotels
  14. Banyan Tree (new entry)
  15. Raffles

As to why Mandarin Oriental has maintained the top position for 3 years, LTI said the following: “Mandarin Oriental has consistently enhanced its overall score for 3 consecutive years, setting a benchmark for others in the industry. The brand is engaging and has cultivated a loyal and expanding customer base that values its dedication to excellence.”

Mandarin Oriental is a Hong Kong-based chain with a relatively small footprint of 40 hotels worldwide. Its flagship property is the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, and it has just 2 active properties in the U.S. currently:

The former Mandarin Oriental Miami closed in May of this year while the chain builds a brand-new resort and branded residences complex, which is set to open in 2030.

Mandarin Oriental is an independent chain that doesn’t participate in a traditional loyalty program, so it’s difficult to redeem points at an outsized value for stays. However, all Mandarin Oriental properties participate in the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts program, and some in The Edit by Chase Travel, though it varies by hotel. These programs confer elite-like perks and other extras when you make a qualifying booking.

It’s also frequently possible to find credits to reduce the cost of a booking at Mandarin Oriental via Amex Offers.
