Guests can enjoy curated art, sensory experiences like the DIY lavender turndown, and refined food and beverage options at over 170 locations throughout 20 counties.

Pet owners will be happy to know that most properties are pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your 4-legged friend along for the stay.

Aloft Hotels

Aloft hotels dog friendly
Aloft Hotels are very dog-friendly! Image Credit: Marriott

Aloft Hotels are “different by design” and have a fun, vibrant, vibe that is closely connected to music and technology.

This brand also knows that pets are part of the family and does its best at making sure that dogs are as comfortable as human guests. That is why the company launched the Arf (animals are fun) pet program.

Dogs under 40 pounds are welcome and will get to enjoy an Aloft-branded dog bed and water bowl, as well as some treats and toys!

Autograph Collection

Castle Hotel dogs
The Castle Hotel in Orlando charges $150 for the first dog and $50 for a second. Image Credit: Castle Hotel

Marriott’s Autograph Collection is an upscale brand that showcases handpicked boutique hotels from around the world.

With expertly curated experiences, unique designs, and connections to the local surroundings, every hotel will offer something different for its guests.

While a stay at an Autograph Collection may be worth it for humans, it is pretty expensive (when allowed) for dogs. As each hotel is unique, so are the pet policies, so be sure to get in touch directly with the hotel if you want to bring your dog.

Hot Tip: Check out our guide to traveling with pets for even more tips and resources.

Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts

Bulgari Hotel dog
The Bulgari Hotel Milano does not charge a pet fee. Image Credit: Bulgari Hotels & Resorts

Bvlgari Hotels, also known as Bulgari Hotels, is a small contemporary luxury brand new to the Marriott portfolio. Currently, the brand has locations in Europe and Asia but will be opening a hotel in Miami Beach in 2024.

Designed to reflect the timeless glamour and heritage of the Roman jeweler, you can expect these hotels to be luxurious and provide a service that is “informal yet impeccable.”

Normally we would expect to see these types of hotels have limits on dogs, however, many properties are pet-friendly and some don’t even charge a pet fee.

City Express by Marriott

City Express is a new Marriott brand that was added in mid-2023. It has over 150 moderately priced locations across Mexico and Latin America.

City Express by Marriott’s pet policy varies by location.

Courtyard by Marriott

With over 1,200 locations across 56 countries, Courtyard by Marriott is one of the most popular and well-known brands in the world.

Courtyard hotels are midscale properties generally catering towards business travelers, however, due to the large room sizes and relatively affordable prices, they are also popular amongst families on the road.

Although each property can decide whether or not pets are allowed, in our research we have found that many Courtyard hotels are pet-friendly. That being said, prices are high with cleaning fees ranging from $75 to $150 per stay.

If you decide to bring your pooch along, just be sure to contact the hotel directly to confirm any extra charges.

Delta Hotels

Delta Hotels by Marriott Calgary Downtown dog

Delta Hotels is a premium brand in the Marriott portfolio that focuses on the business traveler.

The brand says that its hotels offer “everything you need… and nothing you don’t” and that includes free water, Wi-Fi, great service, all-day dining, and plenty of options for exercise while you are staying.

The good news for those road-warriors who like to bring their dogs along… pets are welcome at most properties!

Design Hotels

Elizabeth Unique Hotel dog
Your small pets (under 11 pounds) are welcome with a €150 cleaning fee at the Elizabeth Unique Hotel in Rome. Image Credit: Marriott

Design Hotels is a unique group of hotels spread across 37 counties that are “Made By Originals.” Each hotel is designed through the vision of an independent hotelier with a focus on local culture and style.

These 120 premium hotels strive to be “gathering points for influencers, world travelers, and local creatives” and hope to create original journeys and experiences for guests in extraordinary destinations around the world.

As each hotel is unique, so are the rules when it comes to bringing pets. While some of the smaller, more unique properties do not allow pets, we did find some in the U.S. that are pet-friendly.

EDITION Hotels

Edition Hotel New York dog
The New York EDITION is pet-friendly and charges a whopping $150 per stay cleaning fee. Image Credit: New York EDITION

EDITION Hotels is small, but one of the hottest brands in the Marriott family right now.

These luxury properties can be found in some of the most exciting locations around the world, offering understated luxury with large rooms, innovative design, entertainment, and food and beverage experiences.

Each hotel is unique, so rules will vary when it comes to bringing your dog along. If you are doing your research, we have found that EDITION Hotels only mention being pet-friendly on their website if they allow pets. If you don’t see anything under the Services & Amenities tab, pets are likely not welcome.

Element by Westin

Element Austin dog
Element Austin Downtown offers your pet a complimentary dog bed, water and food bowls, treats, and toys. Image Credit: Marriott

Element by Westin is an extended stay brand that focuses on the well-being of its guests as well as the environment.

With large rooms with kitchens and access to cooking class videos, extra space to unwind and do some yoga, free bicycles to use, and EV chargers, there is a lot to like about this brand before we even start talking about dogs.

To put the icing on the cake, the Element by Westin is very dog-friendly. The brand is part of the Love that Dog program which was launched for Starwood pet-friendly hotels in 2013 (RIP SPG)!

Dogs are welcome and will even receive their own signature dog bed, food and water bowls, cleaning supplies, and more! Sizes and cleaning fees will vary by hotel.

Fairfield by Marriott

Fairfield Inn Suites by Marriott Washington DC dog
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Washington, DC/Downtown accommodates your 4-legged friends, but not all Fairfield by Marriott properties do. Image Credit: Marriott

Fairfield by Marriott strives to provide guests with a stress-free stay at a fair price. With over 1,000 properties in the U.S. alone, if you are traveling anytime soon, you will likely come across a Fairfield.

These popular properties offer large rooms with extra workspaces, free breakfast, free coffee, and a 24/7 convenience store in case you forgot something.

While it may seem like this brand would be welcoming to dogs, we found many Fairfields that were not pet-friendly. The ones that we did find had some pretty steep cleaning fees, so call before you show up with your pup!

Four Points by Sheraton

Four Points by Sheraton dog
Many Four Points by Sheraton locations are pet-friendly. Image Credit: Marriott

Four Points by Sheraton is another brand with a strong focus on value and essentials done right.

Guests staying at a Four Points property will always receive a functional and comfortable room, free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour gym, and a lobby bar with local craft beers and comfort foods.

No matter if you are a business or a leisure traveler, you will be sure to have a comfortable stay at a decent price.

While there is no blanket Four Points pet policy, we did find that pets are not allowed at most properties. However, there are some Four Points that are pet-friendly and the fee is often $0, so it’s worth reaching out to your hotel to double-check!

Gaylord Hotels

Gaylord Opryland Resort Convention Center Nashville
Gaylord Hotels are not pet-friendly. Image Credit: Marriott

Gaylord Hotels is a small group of massive hotels designed to welcome large conventions and provide everything everyone will need under 1 roof.

Whether you are visiting for work or a family vacation, these unique properties offer everything from shopping and golfing to fine dining and more.

Unfortunately for the dog-lovers that want to experience one of these unique properties, pets are not welcome at any Gaylord hotel.

Homes & Villas by Marriott International

Billys Astro Lounge Palm Springs Hotels Villas Marriott

Homes & Villas by Marriott International is the hotel chain’s attempt at home rentals, similar to Airbnb.

Marriott Bonvoy members can use and earn points to stay at private homes across the world that are professionally managed by a local management company.

Since each home has an individual owner, rules and prices will vary when it comes to bringing pets. The good news is that you can easily search and filter homes that are pet-friendly — when searching, click + All Filters, then Home Features, then Pets Allowed.

JW Marriott Hotels

JW Marriott Hotels are part of the Classic Luxury collection and focus on delivering enriching experiences to the guests through wellness and mindfulness.

The almost 100 luxury properties are some of the most well-known hotels no matter where they are located thanks to their legendary service and quality.

If you want to share the wellness with your 4-legged friend, you will be happy to know that most JW Marriott Hotels are pet-friendly!

Le Méridien

Le Meriden dog

Playful sophistication combined with timeless chic is the vibe that Le Méridien properties exude.

This brand offers European-style luxury with well-appointed rooms and a strong focus on elevated food and beverage offerings at its more than 100 properties spread across 36 different countries.

Families will be happy to know that many properties not only have kids’ programs but are also pet-friendly. As always, prices and restrictions will vary, but you can find most of this information on the individual hotel sites.

The Luxury Collection

The Phoenician a Luxury Collection Resort Scottsdale dog

The Luxury Collection is “a curated ensemble of the world’s most iconic hotels that truly define their destinations.” If that sounds impressive, that is the point.

The properties provide guests with unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and inspire travelers to explore the local destination like never before, all while staying in some of the most luxurious hotels available.

Since each property is unique, so are the pet policies. However, we have found that many U.S. properties in The Luxury Collection are pet-friendly.

Marriott Executive Apartments

If you are looking for temporary housing that feels like home, Marriott Executive Apartments may be just what you need.

With full-service, often 5-star, apartments, long-term guests can enjoy the luxury of a hotel with the space and privacy of an apartment. To make it even better, you can use or earn Marriott Bonvoy points for your stay.

At the moment there are only 32 properties across 15 countries, with none being located in the U.S. But if you find yourself traveling abroad with your pet, you will probably want to look elsewhere as most Marriott Executive Apartments are not pet-friendly.

Marriott Hotels & Resorts

Istanbul Marriott Hotel Sisli dog

Part of the Classic Premium collection, Marriott Hotels & Resorts is the company’s flagship brand and easily one of the most well-known hotel brands in the world. What started as 2 motels in Washington, D.C. in 1950 has now grown to over 600 properties today.

Despite not being known necessarily for luxury properties, Marriott is in the process of redesigning and the brand and updating many hotels to “spark creativity, fuel the imagination, and welcome reflection.” These new hotels will have a modern, clean, and welcoming feel no matter if you are on the road for business or vacationing with family.

If you are on the road with your pet, you will be happy to know that there are many pet-friendly Marriott Hotels around the world, and especially in the U.S. As always, prices and size limitations will vary by property.

Marriott Vacation Club

For those who enjoy timeshare properties, the Marriott Vacation Club is a great option thanks to its impressive footprint of resorts across some of the most popular vacation destinations.

These resorts tend to offer larger accommodations for owners with options ranging from studios to 3-bedroom suites to townhouses. But you don’t need to be an owner to enjoy these — anyone can book these rooms with points or cash and enjoy the extra space with friends and family.

Unfortunately, if you want to bring the entire family (pets included), you will have to look elsewhere as most properties are not pet-friendly.

Moxy Hotels

Moxy hotels are dog friendly

If you are looking for an Instagram-worthy brand, Moxy Hotels will be at the top of the list.

From the moment you check in (at the bar), to the art-filled lobbies, to the plush accommodations, everywhere you look is designed to fun and not average.

The 80+ and growing locations are focused on millennials and Gen Z travelers and it should come as no surprise that many of the hotels in this fun brand welcome dogs. What is a bit surprising is that some of the hotels that do allow dogs even allow large dogs, which has not been the case compared to other Marriott brands’ pet policies.

Protea Hotels by Marriott

Protea Hotels is the largest hospitality brand in Africa, with most of its 80 properties located in South Africa.

Each hotel is locally-inspired for its design and focuses on luxurious accommodations and full-service restaurants on-site.

Unfortunately, if you find yourself driving around Africa with your pet, you won’t be able to stay at a Protea hotel because most are not pet-friendly.

These hotels are popular for business travelers on longer trips as well as families who take advantage of the extra space and kitchens to prepare their own meals. For families traveling with pets, you will be happy to know that pets are welcome at almost all Residence Inn hotels.

Last but certainly not least is Westin Hotels. This brand focuses on the wellness of its guests while at the same time providing a premium luxury experience.

Everything that a guest experiences at a Westin Hotel is expected to be done well. Sleep well, eat well, move well, play well, work well, and most importantly feel well. With everything from the famous Heavenly Bed, to workout essentials, to healthy dining, a stay at a Westin will hopefully leave you feeling better than when you arrived.

Leaving your dog at home while you are on vacation probably wouldn’t make you feel so… well, so that is why pets are welcome at most Westin properties.

Final Thoughts

Marriott is the largest hotel company in the world, so when you are traveling with your pet you can be sure to find a hotel in the portfolio that is pet-friendly.

With the exception of just a few brands, you will be able to have your pick of hotels and resorts based on your criteria. Whether you are looking for a luxury hotel on the beach in Hawaii or an apartment-style long-term stay option with a kitchen, thousands of options are just a click away.

And the best part, you can pay for your stay with points!

Of course, every hotel operates within its own set of rules, so it is a good idea to reach out to the property before arriving to confirm any size restrictions and extra cleaning fees.

Besides that, the most important thing is for you and your pet to travel safely!
