Delta One is Delta Air Lines’ business class product, but the seat experience varies significantly by aircraft. Configurations range from fully enclosed suites with closing privacy doors to older reverse-herringbone configurations without any partition.

This guide breaks down each Delta One product by aircraft type so you know what to expect before booking.

Quick Overview

Delta currently operates 6 distinct wide-body Delta One products. The Airbus A330-900neo offers the widest and longest seat currently in service, while the A350-900 introduced the Delta One Suite concept and remains the airline’s flagship wide-body. The Boeing 767-400ER features an updated seat with a partial privacy partition, while the A330-200, A330-300, and 767-300ER carry older reverse-herringbone configurations with no door or partition.

Both the A330-200 and A330-300 are scheduled for suite retrofits that will add closing privacy doors. The differences between products are significant enough to warrant checking your specific aircraft before booking.

Delta One vs. Delta One Suites

Delta One is the brand name for Delta’s entire business class cabin across its international fleet, but not every Delta One seat is a Delta One Suite. Suites have a fully closing privacy door that creates an enclosed private pod, a feature currently exclusive to the A350-900 and A330-900neo.

The other Delta One configurations are lie-flat — with most offering direct aisle access at every seat in a 1-2-1 layout — but lack the closing door that distinguishes the suite product from the rest of the Delta One fleet.

Airbus A350-900

The A350-900 is Delta’s current flagship wide-body and the aircraft that introduced Delta One Suites. Seats measure 20.46 inches wide with a lie-flat length of 76 to 77 inches, and every seat has a closing privacy door with direct aisle access in a 1-2-1 layout.

One important detail: Delta operates 2 A350-900 configurations. The original 359 layout seats 32 Delta One passengers, while 27 former LATAM aircraft in the 35H configuration seat 40. Both show as “A350-900” in booking tools but differ in seat count and cabin layout, so checking the seat map matters (Source: Delta).

Airbus A330-900neo

The A330-900neo is Delta’s widest Delta One Suite product currently in service. At 22.5 inches wide and 79 to 80 inches lie-flat, it exceeds the A350-900 on both dimensions while offering the same fully closing privacy door (Source: Delta).

Delta operates 39 A330-900neo aircraft across transatlantic and Asia-Pacific routes, making it the most common suite-equipped aircraft in the fleet. For passengers who prioritize seat dimensions, the A330-900neo is the strongest in-service Delta One product currently available.

Boeing 767-400ER

The 767-400ER is Delta’s most capable nonsuite Delta One product. Seats measure 20 inches wide with a 77-inch lie-flat length in a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone layout that provides direct aisle access from every seat. While there is no closing door, the 767-400ER includes a partial privacy partition — a hardware upgrade over the fully open configurations on older Delta wide-bodies.

With 34 Delta One seats, this aircraft serves primarily transatlantic routes and is good if your itinerary doesn’t involve a suite-equipped aircraft.

Airbus A330-200

The A330-200 has one of Delta’s older Delta One configurations. Seats measure 19.7 inches wide with an 80-inch lie-flat length — the longest in the nonsuite fleet — but the cabin uses a dated reverse-herringbone layout with no privacy door or partition. Delta plans a full suite retrofit for the A330-200 that will add closing privacy doors and 24-inch screens (Source: Delta News Hub).

Until the retrofit is complete, the product trails the suite-equipped aircraft and the 767-400ER in practical cabin quality.

Airbus A330-300

The A330-300 shares the same Delta One seat dimensions as the A330-200: 19.7 inches wide and 80 inches lie-flat in a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone layout with no closing door or partition. Delta operates the A330-300 on transatlantic and Asia-Pacific routes, giving it wide deployment despite its dated configuration.

A suite retrofit is expected in late 2026, adding the same closing privacy doors and 24-inch screens announced for the A330-200.

Bottom Line:

Booking this aircraft before the retrofit is complete means accepting the current older product.

Boeing 767-300ER

The 767-300ER carries Delta’s oldest active Delta One configuration. The seat is 20.5 inches wide with a 77-inch lie-flat length, but there is no privacy door, no partition, and no hardware differentiator that separates it from similar-era products on other carriers. The standard 76K configuration seats 26 Delta One passengers — a smaller cabin than most other wide-body types.

The 767-300ER continues to operate various international routes but ranks last among Delta’s in-service wide-body Delta One products by every current measure.

Boeing 757-200 (Flat-Bed Subfleet)

The 757-200 flat-bed subfleet carries the Delta One brand on domestic and Caribbean routes, but it is a narrow-body aircraft with a fundamentally different configuration. Unlike every other Delta One setup, the 757-200 uses a 2-2 layout with seats measuring 19 inches wide and a 76-inch lie-flat length. With just 16 Delta One seats and no privacy door or partition, it is more comparable to a premium domestic product than to international business class.

It serves shorter-haul markets where a wide-body aircraft is not operationally viable.

Airbus A350-1000 (Coming in 2027)

Delta has announced the A350-1000 as its next flagship wide-body, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027. The aircraft will seat 53 Delta One Suites in a 1-2-1 layout, each with a closing privacy door and a 24-inch personal screen — the largest in the Delta One fleet. Specific seat width and lie-flat dimensions have not been disclosed as of mid-2026.

The A350-1000 is part of Delta’s broader cabin investment program and is expected to operate on premier international routes.

How To Identify Your Delta One Aircraft

Confirming which Delta One product you will fly requires checking beyond the cabin class on your booking:

  • Check the seat map on Delta.com. Seat counts are the most reliable signal of aircraft type: 29 seats indicate the A330-900neo; 32 or 40 seats indicate the A350-900; 34 seats on a wide-body points to the 767-400ER, A330-200, or A330-300.
  • Watch for the A350-900 configuration split. Both the 359 and 35H configurations appear as “A350-900” in booking tools but seat 32 and 40 Delta One passengers, respectively. The 35H aircraft (which seat 40) are former LATAM jets with a different cabin layout.
  • Recheck before departure. Delta can swap aircraft up to the time of departure. Verify the seat map within 24 hours to confirm you are still on the expected equipment. Alternatively, set alerts on ExpertFlyer for any aircraft changes.

Verdict: Delta One Seats Ranked

The following ranking covers the 6 in-service wide-body Delta One products. The 757-200 flat-bed is excluded from the narrow-body product category.

  1. A330-900neo: Widest seat at 22.5 inches and longest lie-flat bed at 79 to 80 inches in the current suite fleet, with a closing privacy door.
  2. A350-900: Closing door and Delta’s flagship wide-body; slightly narrower and shorter than the A330-900neo.
  3. B767-400ER: Updated seat with partial privacy partition; no closing door.
  4. A330-200: 80-inch lie-flat bed is the longest in the nonsuite fleet; no door or partition; suite retrofit announced.
  5. A330-300: Identical product to the A330-200; suite retrofit with closing doors expected late 2026.
  6. B767-300ER: Oldest active configuration; no door, no partition.

Final Thoughts

Delta One covers more hardware variations than most passengers anticipate when booking. The A330-900neo and A350-900 are the only in-service configurations with fully enclosed Delta One Suites and closing privacy doors, and the A330-900neo leads in seat dimensions. When you have a choice between the 2, the A330-900neo is the stronger option.

The 767-400ER is the best nonsuite alternative, while the A330-200, A330-300, and 767-300ER carry configurations that haven’t kept pace with the rest of the fleet. Planned suite retrofits will eventually change the picture for both Airbus wide-body types.

Aircraft swaps remain an issue on international itineraries. Delta can change equipment without advance notice, and the gap between an A330-900neo suite and a B767-300ER seat is large enough to materially affect your experience. Confirm the seat map before booking, and verify it again within 48 hours of departure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Delta plane has the best Delta One product?

The A330-900neo currently offers the best Delta One product in the fleet. At 22.5 inches wide and up to 80 inches lie-flat, it exceeds the A350-900 on both seat dimensions while offering the same fully closing privacy door. Delta operates 39 A330-900neo aircraft across transatlantic and Asia-Pacific routes, making it the most widely deployed suite-equipped type in service.

What is the best Delta One seat for couples?

Center pairs on the A330-900neo are the strongest option for couples traveling together, offering 22.5-inch seats with a closing privacy door on each side. Seats 2D and 2G are typically the most desirable pairing on that aircraft. The A350-900 center pairs are also a solid choice, providing the same closing door at slightly narrower dimensions.

Does the Boeing 767-400 have Delta One Suites?

The 767-400ER has an updated Delta One seat with a partial privacy partition, but it does not have a fully closing privacy door. Delta One Suites with closing doors are currently exclusive to the A350-900 and A330-900neo. The 767-400ER, however, is the strongest nonsuite Delta One configuration currently in service.

What is the difference between the A350-900 and A330-900neo Delta One Suite?

Both aircraft offer Delta One Suites with closing privacy doors in a 1-2-1 layout, but the seat dimensions differ. The A330-900neo seat is 22.5 inches wide with a 79- to 80-inch lie-flat length, compared to 20.46 inches wide and 76 to 77 inches lie-flat on the A350-900. The A330-900neo has the larger seat in both measurements.

How can I tell which Delta One aircraft is on my flight?

Check the seat map on Delta.com while booking or managing your reservation. The Delta One seat count is the most reliable indicator: 29 seats for the A330-900neo, 32 or 40 for the A350-900. Because aircraft swaps can occur up to the day of departure, it’s worth rechecking the seat map within 48 hours of your flight to confirm the equipment hasn’t changed.
