When you think of wellness spas, health resorts, or luxury spa resorts, chances are the name Miraval will come to mind. Miraval Spas & Resorts are some of the best in the business, and we especially love them because they can be booked using World of Hyatt points.

These luxury resorts invite guests to live a “life in balance” through mindfulness practices, unique classes, healthy food, fitness classes, and total relaxation.

In this post, we’ll show you what Miraval Resorts are all about and will take you on a tour of all 3 locations — Miraval Arizona, Miraval Austin, and Miraval Berkshires.

Miraval Resorts & Spas

Miraval Resorts & Spas is a luxury, adults-only, all-inclusive wellness brand that focuses on helping guests achieve a “life in balance.” In 1995, the original Miraval Arizona location in Tucson opened its doors with the intention of combining luxury accommodations with mindfulness to create a one-of-a-kind wellness experience.

There are now 3 Miraval locations. In 2019, Miraval Austin opened, followed quickly by Miraval Berkshires in 2020, however, the original location in Tucson remains the most popular.

A brand new location, Miraval The Red Sea, is set to open in 2025.

Miraval Arizona
Miraval Resorts encourage you to unplug and be present. Because of that, digital devices aren’t permitted in most public areas (unless you’re taking photos). Image Credit: Katie Seemann

One of Miraval’s goals is to help guests be mindful and present in the current moment. Because of that, Miraval Resorts & Spas are mostly digital device-free. There are designated areas where devices like phones or iPads are permitted, and of course, you are free to use them in your room. While you are encouraged to not use your phone to talk, text, etc., you’re welcome to have it with you to take photos.

What’s Included?

Miraval Resorts & Spas are all-inclusive, so while the room rates can be high, there’s a lot that’s included in the price.

$175 Nightly Credit per Person

Each guest at Miraval gets a $175 per night resort credit. This credit is automatic and can be used for special activities or spa treatments. It can not be applied to the purchase of alcohol. You’ll get this credit even if you book your Miraval stay with World of Hyatt points.

Food and Beverage

Food and non-alcoholic beverages are included during your stay. The culinary experience at Miraval is not your typical all-inclusive food — it’s fresh, healthy, and delicious, with a focus on local and organic food whenever possible. Even things like smoothies, snacks, and specialty coffees are included.

Activities

While some activities have an additional charge, there are tons of options that are included. There’s a daily activity calendar so that you can easily see what’s included and what’s not.

Miraval Daily Activity Calendar

Guests at Miraval also get a printed-out schedule that lists all of the activities offered each day.

Bottom Line: Miraval Resorts & Spas are luxury, adults-only, all-inclusive resorts with a focus on health and wellness. There are currently 3 locations — Miraval Arizona, Miraval Austin, and Miraval Berkshires. A 4th location, Miraval The Red Sea, in Saudi Arabia is set to open in 2025.

Resort Fee

Miraval Resorts charge a hefty 25% resort fee per night. On top of already high prices, this can add hundreds of dollars to your nightly room rate.

One way to avoid paying this resort fee is to use World of Hyatt points to book your room since Hyatt waives resort fees on award stays. However, if you book a cash + points rate, you’ll have to pay the resort fee.

How To Use World of Hyatt Points to Stay at Miraval

In 2017, Miraval Resorts joined the Hyatt brand of families, opening its doors to an entirely new audience of points-loving travelers.

Hyatt is a favorite hotel brand among many points and miles enthusiasts because you can get excellent value when using points for hotel stays. The fact that you can use points to stay at a brand like Miraval makes these points even better.

Since Miraval is all-inclusive, the pricing is per person, so you’ll need to correctly enter the number of people in your reservation. For a free night redemption, it costs an extra 17,500 to 22,000 points per night to add a second person to the reservation, and for a cash + points redemption, you’ll pay an extra 8,750 to 11,000 points per night for a second guest.

To book your stay at Miraval with World of Hyatt points, call 866-792-3395.
