Financial Snapshot
  • Foreign Transaction Fees:

With 100,000 Atmos Rewards points, you could fly from the Northeastern U.S. (such as Boston (BOS), Newark (EWR), or New York (JFK)) to London (LON) or Dublin (DUB) for just 45,000 points plus taxes and fees. Use your 25,000-point Global Companion Award, and you could bring a companion for just 65,000 points total.

We value Atmos Rewards points at 1.6 cents per point, so a 100,000-point welcome offer is worth $1,600. Add the 25,000-point Global Companion Award, and that’s worth another $400.

Hot Tip:

2. Rewards on Purchases [$584 or More]

You can earn Atmos Rewards points on travel and everyday purchases with the card’s bonus categories, including Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines purchases, dining, and foreign purchases made overseas.

You’ll earn:

  • 3x points on Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines purchases
  • 3x points on dining
  • 3x points on foreign purchases made overseas
  • 1x points on everything else

Let’s say you spend $5,000 on Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines purchases, $4,000 on dining, and $1,000 on foreign purchases made outside of the U.S. each year. That’s 30,000 points earned annually, worth $480.

If you spend another $5,000 on other purchases that earn 1x points, you’ll earn 5,000 points worth $80.

Hold an eligible Bank of America account and earn a 10% bonus on all base points. Assuming $15,000 in spending, you’d get another 1,500 points worth $24, bringing your total to $584 in rewards earned each year.

You can redeem Atmos Rewards points for flights with Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines or with partner airlines such as Cathay Pacific, Starlux, and airlines in the Oneworld alliance.

Hot Tip:

Alaska Airlines relaunched its loyalty program as part of its acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines. The joint loyalty program is now Atmos Rewards, replacing Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles.

3. Transfer Points to Hotel Partners [$50]

With the Atmos Rewards Summit card, you can transfer points to hotel partners, which offer rewards access to more than 25,000 hotels globally. Hotel partners of the Atmos Rewards Summit card include:

Flight redemptions offer the best value, but the ability to use points for hotel bookings adds flexibility to your redemption options. It could come in handy if you need to top off a points balance for a hotel stay.

We value this benefit at about $50.

4. Free Points Sharing [$75 or More]

A unique feature of the Atmos Rewards Summit card is the ability to share points with up to 10 other Atmos Rewards members at no cost. Typically, Atmos Rewards members pay $10 per 1,000 points transferred plus a $25 processing fee, but it’s free for Atmos Rewards Summit cardholders.

With bidirectional sharing, you can send or receive points instantly. Members in your network don’t have to hold the card to use this benefit.

If you transfer just 5,000 points once each year, that’s a $75 savings. You could save more if you transfer more points.

Travel Benefits

5. Global Companion Awards [$400]

Each year, Atmos Rewards Summit cardholders get a 25,000-point Global Companion Award, which we value at about $400. If you spend $60,000 in a cardmember year, you earn a 100,000-point Global Companion Award worth about $1,600.

Global Companion Awards allow you to get a points discount on companion fares when you book a round-trip award flight.

For example, if you book an itinerary that costs 75,000 points and use the 25,000-point award, you’d only pay 125,000 points — 75,000 for your fare and a discounted 50,000-point fare for your companion.

6. Alaska Lounge Passes [$520 or More]

Cardholders get 8 passes to Alaska Lounges each year, which can be used by you or your guests. Atmos Rewards Summit cardholders and guests get complimentary premium drinks at Alaska Lounges through 2026. These include premium cocktails, curated wine selections, and premium mocktails.

Day passes typically cost $65, so this benefit is worth more than $520.

Hot Tip:

You’ll get 2 passes each quarter. The passes don’t roll over from quarter to quarter, so you’ll have to use them or lose them.

7. Free Checked Bag and Priority Boarding [$140 or More]

When you fly with Alaska Airlines using your Atmos Rewards Summit card, you get a free checked bag for you and up to 6 companions and preferred boarding in Group C.

Even if you only fly Alaska a few times per year, you can save $70 per round-trip flight. That’s a $140 savings if you fly 2 round-trip flights each year, not including travel companions.

8. Waived Same-Day Flight Change Fees [$50 or More]

Cardholders can make same-day flight changes for free on Alaska Airlines — a benefit that typically costs $50 per person.

Even if you only use this benefit once per year, it saves you $50.

9. Instant Travel Delay Credit [$100]

As an Atmos Rewards Summit cardholder, you can get real-time compensation for flight disruptions. The card offers a $50 instant travel delay credit on qualifying flights that are delayed for 2 hours or more for any reason or canceled within 24 hours of scheduled departure.

This benefit applies automatically as a voucher email. You don’t need to file a claim or wait for reimbursement to get it. You can use the voucher for food, retail purchases, and transportation, ideally to make travel delays more comfortable.

If you get 2 travel credits per year, that’s worth $100. How much value you get from this benefit depends on how often delays happen and whether you can use all of the credit voucher.

10. Milestone Benefits [$150]

Cardholders can earn milestone benefits starting at 10,000 status points earned by flying with Alaska Airlines or spending on your Atmos Rewards Summit card. For example, $20,000 in spending equals 10,000 status points.

You can choose from milestone benefits, including:

  • Bonus points
  • Meals
  • Wi-Fi
  • Atmos Rewards or Oneworld status
  • Double points with airline partners
  • Car rental upgrades
  • Sustainable aviation fuel contributions
  • Flight discounts
  • Lounge passes or membership discounts
  • Upgrade certificates

These milestone bonuses can be valuable, so this benefit is highly variable and depends on how many points you earn each year, but getting about $150 in value from this benefit is fairly achievable with Wi-Fi, lounge passes, and bonus points.

11. Waived Partner Award Booking Fees [$25 or More]

Booking partner awards with Alaska typically requires a $12.50 fee per person each way, but cardholders don’t have to pay this fee. If you book at least 1 round-trip flight with Alaska partners each year, you save $25 with this benefit.

12. Elite Status Boost [$100 or More]

Each year as a cardholder of the Atmos Rewards Summit card, you receive 10,000 Alaska status points. You can also earn 1 additional status point for every $2 spent on the card.

Atmos Rewards Silver status starts at 20,000 status points, so you could earn that status by holding the card and spending $20,000 per year on it. Highlights of the status include a 25% points bonus on Alaska and qualifying partner airline flights, seat upgrades, express security at select airports, priority check-in and boarding, and Oneworld Ruby status.

That’s easily worth at least $100 annually if you fly Alaska Airlines or Oneworld airlines regularly.

13. Airport Security Statement Credit [$120]

The Atmos Rewards Summit card offers an airport security statement credit of up to $120 every 4 years, which allows you to get reimbursed for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry expedited security programs.

14. 20% Inflight Rebate [$20 or More]

When you use your Atmos Rewards Summit card to pay for onboard Alaska Airlines food, beverage, and Wi-Fi purchases, you get a 20% rebate within 7 days of the transaction posting date.

If you spend around $100 annually on inflight purchases — a few meals and Wi-Fi passes — you get $20 back. You could see more value if you’re a frequent flyer and typically make more onboard purchases.

15. Complimentary Wi-Fi [$64]

You’ll get 8 Wi-Fi passes each year, issued as 2 single-flight passes each quarter. Like the Alaska Lounge passes, these are only valid in the quarter they’re issued in, so you have to use them or lose them.

Alaska Airlines Wi-Fi is $8 per flight, so it’s worth $64 annually if you use all 8 credits.

Final Thoughts

The Atmos Rewards Summit card offers a lot of value for Alaska Airlines flyers. It offers Global Companion Awards, lounge access, and flexible redemption options that can make travel more comfortable and affordable. If you regularly fly with Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines, consider the value you can get from the card’s benefits.
