Final Thoughts
While there are only 8 Escape Lounges located in the U.S., there are a further 7 locations overseas. If you travel often, signing up for a credit card like the Amex Platinum card that gives you access to all of the Escape Lounges, plus over 1,300 other lounges worldwide, can provide you with huge value and travel benefits.
After all, who doesn’t enjoy free food and drinks, and a comfortable area to relax and keep those devices charged while you wait for your plane to board?
I was presented a guest pass for an Escape Lounge – Terminal 4 @ Ontario,Ca. Settled in, gained wifi access via “their” wifi (not the airports). Tried going to gunbroker.com to do some Xmas shopping. Received error message that the site was blocked, due to the category being “weapons”. I then checkec access to NRA.org, also blocked. For a company with “American” in their name, this is just wrong.
Visited the lounge in Cincinnati airport. Stumbled on it while looking for my gate. When my flight was delayed decided to give it a try. The service was wonderful – Jasmine and Carmen are a delight! The food and drink, and amenities also wonderful. So nice to have a calm place to relax in this very stressful travel time. Will definitely be back and look for you in other locations. Cheers and Happy Holidays!
Hi Norma,
That’s great to hear! Thanks for reading!
Apparently my Delta Platinum AMX does not qualify for the entry fee to your Ontario Ca. Airport location. What is that all about ?
Hi Larry. We are not affiliated with Escape Lounges, we are Upgraded Points, a blog specializing in travel and points/miles content. However, please note that the Delta SkyMiles Platinum card is a different card than the Amex Platinum Card and does not come with complimentary Escape (or other) lounge access.
I was told that by the Escape receptionist this morning “ it is a different kind of card “ which does not really tell me much because it is indeed a Platinum AMX card. If you could be so kind to just tell me what makes my card different, other than my race ,it would be greatly appreciated
It can be confusing as they both have the word “Platinum” in their title. The Amex Platinum card comes with a much higher annual fee and offers several luxury benefits including lounge access. The Delta SkyMiles Platinum card is a Delta-branded card and is totally different from the Platinum Card from American Express. It does not include complimentary lounge access. You can read the descriptions and benefits of each card here: Delta SkyMiles Platinum card: https://upgradedpoints.com/delta-skymiles-platinum-amex-card-benefits Amex Platinum card: https://upgradedpoints.com/amex-platinum-card-benefits I hope this makes things clearer. Thanks for reading.
It does indeed answer my concerns, thank you for the timely response.
