Update:

The Aeroplan^® Credit Card is now the Chase Air Canada Aeroplan^® Credit Card, and its annual fee and benefits have changed, so some of the information below may not be accurate. Also, the offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

For a limited time only, new applicants for Chase’s Aeroplan^® Credit Card can receive a welcome bonus offer of 100,000 bonus points after opening an account and completing the introductory spending requirement.

The Aeroplan card offers a variety of great perks, both for those who want to get more value out of their Air Canada flights and those who want to take advantage of the excellent Aeroplan rewards program.

Let’s take a look at all the details and see who should apply for the Aeroplan card!

Aeroplan Card’s 100K Welcome Bonus Offer

For a limited time, the Aeroplan card has the following welcome bonus offer:

Earn 75,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
Earn an additional 25,000 bonus points after you spend $20,000 on purchases in 12 months from account opening.

We value Air Canada Aeroplan points at 1.5 cents per point, making this 100,000-point welcome offer bonus worth $1,500, based on that valuation.

The card’s previous offer provided up to 60,000 bonus points, and that required $3,000 of spending in the first 3 months from account opening to earn the full bonus. This new offer provides you with 40,000 more points, provided you can meet the increased spend requirement.

What can you do with 100,000 bonus points? You could leverage Aeroplan points to experience SWISS business class without paying an arm and a leg, for example.

Aeroplan Card Rewards and Benefits

Even if you’re not a frequent Air Canada flyer, the Aeroplan card could still be a good card for you, as its rewards can be redeemed with a wide variety of Star Alliance partners, such as United, Lufthansa, ANA, and SWISS, at excellent rates.

3 points per $1 spent on Air Canada purchases, at grocery stores, and dining at restaurants (including takeout and eligible delivery services)
500 bonus points for every $2,000 you spend in a calendar month (up to a maximum of 1,500 bonus points)
Receive automatic Aeroplan 25K status for the remainder of the calendar year, plus the following calendar year. Extend it beyond that by spending $15,000 on the card per calendar year.

Preferred pricing on award tickets
No foreign transaction fees
Receive 5,000 Status Qualifying Credits (SQCs) toward Aeroplan status automatically.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a frequent Air Canada flyer and want to earn extra benefits on your flights, the Aeroplan card might be a must-have for you. Similarly, if you’re a points maximizer who likes redeeming points for business- and first-class flights, 100,000 Aeroplan points make some great redemptions possible.
