The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express is one of our favorite business cards with a  $0 annual fee (rates & fees). Whether you’re a new business owner or just want to minimize costs as much as possible, the Amex Blue Business Plus card is easily a top contender.

In this post, we’ll show you the steps to find a higher welcome bonus offer of 50,000 points — which can be up to 3 times the amount of the publicly available offer on the Amex Blue Business Plus card.

Targeted offers are discussed in the article below. Please note that these offers are not available to all applicants. Any information related to targeted offers has been collected independently and has not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Amex Blue Business Plus Card Welcome Bonus Offer

It’s crucial to know when exactly you should apply for a card. After all, the welcome bonus offer is a one-time opportunity for eligible applicants to snag a huge haul of points upon meeting minimum spend requirements.

Case in point — this is the current public offer of the Amex Blue Business Plus card:

  • Earn 15,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $3,000 in eligible purchases on the Card within your first 3 months of Card Membership.

However, it’s possible to find a greater 50,000-point welcome offer. Applying for this targeted offer instead can mean the difference of earning an extra ~35,000 points — although an elevated offer can come with a higher minimum spending requirement of $5,000 to $8,000.

We value Membership Rewards points at about 2.2 cents per point, which means that an Amex Blue Business Plus card welcome offer of 50,000-points is worth ~$1,100 for travel!

Option 1: Check Amex’s Website Directly (Try This First)

The first step to finding this 50,000-point welcome offer is to check on the American Express website directly as a first step.

As mentioned above, the current public welcome bonus offer for the Amex Blue Business Plus card is: Earn 15,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $3,000 in eligible purchases on the Card within your first 3 months of Card Membership.

Targeted offers aren’t available to everyone, but here’s an example of a targeted offer we found directly through American Express:

Option 2. Targeted Email Offers

You can also find elevated welcome offers by checking targeted emails or mailers. If you want to start receiving these targeted offers, opt-in to receive New Card and Credit Offers in your Amex account’s General Marketing Email Preferences.

Benefits of the Amex Blue Business Plus Card

The Amex Blue Business Plus card comes with considerable benefits and rewards-earning opportunities:

  • 0.0% intro APR on purchases for 12 months from the date of account opening, then a variable rate, 17.49% - 25.49%, based on your creditworthiness and other factors at account opening. APR will not exceed 29.99% (rates & fees)
  • 2x Membership Rewards points on all eligible business purchases (up to $50,000 per calendar year, 1x points thereafter)
  • Add employee cards for no additional fee (rates & fees)
  • Purchase protection and extended warranty protection

Maximizing 50K Membership Rewards Points

Once you earn 50,000 points, what can you do with all of those Amex Membership Rewards points? Here are a couple of ideas.

1. Business Class Ticket to Paris or Amsterdam

Air France/KLM – Flying Blue is one of Amex’s transfer partners. It’s one of our favorites because one-way business class tickets from the U.S. to Europe (or vice versa) can be booked for as little as 50,000 miles and roughly ~$200 in taxes and fees.

2. Up to 3 Domestic Round-Trip Flights

You can easily save on domestic flights with Amex Membership Rewards points across all 3 major airline alliances using transfer partners:

Domestic flights are usually priced by distance through partner programs, so flights generally under 500 miles can be booked at the cheapest award rates.

3. Book 2 Nights at the AutoCamp

If you like glamping and outdoor experiences, you’ll love Hilton Honors’ newest partnership with AutoCamp. From Cape Cod to Joshua Tree, you can book an Airstream suite for 2 starting at ~50,000 Hilton points per night.

Amex points transfer to Hilton Honors at a 1:2 ratio. By transferring 50,000 Amex points, you’ll get 100,000 Hilton points, which can be used to book 2 nights at these dreamy AutoCamp destinations!

Final Thoughts

The Amex Blue Business Plus card offers a generous 2x rewards rate on all purchases, up to $50,000 per year. Maximizing this annual limit can help you earn 100,000 additional points per year, which can be used for incredible value for airfare or hotels!
