Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.
The Amex Offers program is a fantastic way to save on purchases, and you can often receive hefty savings for merchants you were already ordinarily going to spend with. In a new release of targeted Amex Offers, you can potentially find savings on cable, internet, wireless, and/or insurance bills.
How To Add an Amex Offer to Your Account
The first word of caution is that not every card or cardmember will be targeted for an Amex Offer. You may find you’re not targeted at all, or you may find that one of the offers is only available on one Amex card, but not any other card. It’s worth noting that this latest round of Amex Offers is highly targeted, so it may be likely you won’t see any on your account.
To add an offer to your account, simply visit the American Express website or Amex mobile app, scroll to each of your cards, and click on Offers where you’ll be able to view the full list of offers you’ve been targeted for. Make sure to click Add to Card with any offers you’re interested in.
Hot Tip: If you don’t see your account targeted, one trick some users report as successful is to add the currently available offers to your cards, allowing more offers to potentially populate once the older ones are added.
The Offers
There are 3 new Amex Offers that have been added to some accounts. You may find none, 1, 2, or all 3 offers on your account depending on how you were targeted.
Wireless Discount
If you spend $75 or more on your wireless bill, you will get back $10 as a statement credit. This can be repeated 2 times for a total of $20 cash back. Wireless providers often provide the ability for you to manually pay your bill, so if you make 2 separate payments of $75 or more, you should be able to take advantage of this offer. Some American Express cards offer cell phone protection insurance, so you may already be paying your phone bill with an eligible American Express card.
Insurance Payment
When you pay your insurance bill, you can get 10% of that purchase back as a statement credit, up to $15. This includes companies like Progressive, USAA, and other large companies that offer major car or similar insurance products.
Cable and Internet
This is a highly useful offer for many consumers. You can get 10% back as a statement credit when you pay your cable or internet provider, up to $15.
Final Thoughts
If you were targeted for either of these Amex Offers, be sure to take advantage of the savings by paying your bill. Fortunately, all 3 of these offers should be pretty easy to utilize, however not all consumers will be targeted.
