1. Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Big Island, Hawaii

2. The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia

Greenbrier is one of the country’s most legendary resorts. It first opened in 1778 and has become synonymous with American getaways. It’s such an iconic hotel that it is now a National Historic Landmark.

With luxury rooms and cottages, a renowned spa, and a full schedule of daily activities from workout classes to bunker tours, there’s something for the whole family to do during your stay. Greenbriar is also a staple in the golf world. For over 100 years, pros have practiced their swing at the resort’s 4 courses.

All of the courses are worth booking a tee time at. However, the signature championship Greenbriar is perhaps the most famous. It’s the most challenging on the property and the only resort course to host both the Ryder and the Solheim Cups. 

How To Book: When booking resorts that don’t participate in any major hotel chain, it’s a good idea to pay with your travel credit card. 3. The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, Pennsylvania

Known for its sophistication and top-notch service, Hotel Hershey has been a premier getaway destination for generations.

All hotel guests get free admission to several local attractions. These include the Hershey Gardens and the Hershey Story’s Museum Experience, the hotel’s pools, and the resort’s packed calendar of activities. For a day of pampering, book treatments at The Chocolate Spa.

JW Marriott in San Antonio offers something for every kind of guest. Nature lovers can find peace among the 600 acres of trees surrounding the property, while travelers looking for rejuvenation can spend their days at the spa.

This resort is just a few minutes away from Downtown San Antonio, so you’re just a short distance from the area’s best shops, restaurants, and art scenes.

Passionate golfers can hone their skills at either of the resort’s 2 award-winning championship courses. The Oaks course regularly hosts the Valero Texas Open, so you can feel like a true pro while on the greens.

How To Book: Free nights are reasonable at the JW Marriott in San Antonio, with guest rooms starting at 45,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. 5. PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens is a luxury paradise with lush greenery and palm trees.

Its location is just far enough away from West Palm Beach to create a bubble of peace and calm but close enough that you can be in the city in minutes. With its world-class dining, full-service spa, and extensive calendar of on-property activities, there are plenty of ways to spend your days.

Its close association with the PGA organization means it’s home to some of the nation’s best courses. The property has five championship courses, including “The Champion,” which has hosted several national championships.

7. The Ritz-Carlton, Maui in Kapalua, Hawaii

For a luxurious Maui vacation, it’s hard to do better than The Ritz-Carlton, Maui. This resort is tucked away in vibrantly-colored nature, which shows how breathtaking the island is.

8. Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
