Bilt Rewards unveiled the details of its new program, known as Bilt 2.0, last week. Shortly after, it announced further changes in response to harsh backlash from members.

While we’ve had the time to digest the changes (and make sense of them), there were still details missing, including the full details on how the program’s new currency, Bilt Cash, could be redeemed. Bilt has now shared the details on how Bilt Cash can be redeemed — and what for.

Let’s take a look at the details.

What Is Bilt Cash?

Bilt Cash is a new currency that plays a major role in the revamped Bilt 2.0 program, which was subsequently tweaked just 2 days after the initial announcement. It was designed to be a flexible reward currency that can be used however Bilt members see fit.

As a quick reminder, Bilt Cash can be earned in a couple of ways. All new Bilt Rewards credit cards earn 4% back in the form of Bilt Cash on all nonhousing spending. Additionally, Bilt members (even those without a Bilt credit card) can earn $50 in Bilt Cash each time they achieve a 25,000-point status milestone.

Since the initial Bilt 2.0 announcement, we knew that Bilt Cash could be used to waive the 3% fee required to unlock 1x points earning on rent or mortgage payments, as long as a cardholder puts 75% of the amount of their housing payment on nonhousing spend on their Bilt card.

We also knew there’d be other uses for Bilt Cash and had a general idea of what that could look like, but now, Bilt CEO Ankur Jain has shared the first redemption options for Bilt Cash in a letter sent to Bilt Rewards members.

Bilt Cash Redemptions — The Details

Beginning February 1, 2026, Bilt Cash redemptions will go live. Of course, members can redeem Bilt Cash to unlock 1x points earnings on their rent or mortgage payment, but there are other options, as outlined in a Bilt press release, including:

  • Dollar-for-dollar monthly credits
  • Premium experiences and benefits
  • Enhanced rewards and unlocks across the Bilt ecosystem

Bilt says that the options for redeeming Bilt Cash (aside from waiving the 3% fee to unlock 1x earnings on housing payments) include dining, travel, transportation, health and wellness, entertainment, and more.

Here’s a look at the first tranche of options for redeeming Bilt Cash in ways not related to rent:

Dining and Groceries

  • Redeem up to $120 Bilt Cash per year toward grocery or food delivery via Grubhub in increments of up to $10 per month. Available from March 1, 2026.
  • Redeem up to $60 Bilt Cash per year toward Bilt Home Delivery (powered by Gopuff) on groceries, alcohol, and essentials in increments of up to $5 per month.
  • Redeem up to $100 Bilt Cash per year to cover the cost of a Gopuff Fam membership for up to 12 months, in increments of $100 per year. Available from March 1, 2026.
  • Redeem up to $300 Bilt Cash per year toward meals from select Bilt Dining restaurants via Mobile Dining Checkout, with thousands of restaurants expected to be available nationwide. You can redeem up to $25 on 1 visit per month.
  • Redeem up to $600 Bilt Cash per year for exclusive Bilt dining experiences, in increments of up to $50 per month. Available from March 1, 2026.

Travel and Transportation

  • Redeem up to $1,200 in Bilt Cash per year for hotel stays in the Bilt Travel Portal, in increments of up to $50 per month for Bilt Blue and Silver members and up to $100 per month for Bilt Gold and Platinum members.
  • Redeem Bilt Cash to unlock more lucrative transfer bonuses on Rent Day by jumping to the next status tier. For example, a Gold member can redeem $75 in Bilt Cash to upgrade from a 75% to a 100% bonus. Note that pricing and availability are subject to change.
  • Redeem up to $120 in Bilt Cash per year for Lyft rides, in increments of $10 per month.
  • Redeem up to $150 in Bilt Cash per year for Blacklane rides. Blue and Silver members can redeem up to $50 per year, Gold members up to $100 per year, and Platinum members up to $150 per year.
  • Redeem up to $700 in Bilt Cash per year for Blade seats, up to $350 per seat, up to 2 times per year. Available from March 1, 2026.
  • Home Away From Home benefits: Bilt Blue and Silver members can redeem $95 in Bilt Cash to unlock benefits typically reserved for Gold and Platinum members. These include room upgrades, approximately $100 in hotel credits, early check-in, late checkout, and more. Available from March 1, 2026.
  • Bilt Palladium Card (rates & fees) exclusive: Redeem up to $768 in Bilt Cash per year to purchase extra Priority Pass guest credits. You can cover up to 2 guest fees per month, up to $32 per guest, and up to $64 back per month. Available from March 1, 2026.
  • Redeem up to $60 in Bilt Cash per year at participating Bilt Neighborhood Parking locations, in increments of up to $5 per month. Available from March 1, 2026.

Health and Wellness

  • Redeem up to $480 in Bilt Cash per year on 1 fitness class (including Barry’s, SoulCycle, and more) per month through the Bilt mobile app (iOS, Android), in increments of up to $40 per month.
  • Redeem up to $120 in Bilt Cash per year on Walgreens purchases, in increments of up to $10 per month.

Miscellaneous

  • Redeem up to $600 in Bilt Cash per year for exclusive Bilt comedy experiences, in increments of up to $50 per month. Available from March 1, 2026.
  • Redeem up to $120 in Bilt Cash per year for Bilt Design Collection purchases, in increments of up to $10 per month.

Cardholder Exclusive: Earnings Accelerator

A very interesting option for redeeming Bilt Cash is to use it to unlock earnings accelerators on 2 of the 3 new Bilt-branded credit cards. You’ll have to choose to set your card to earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend, rather than earning up to 1.25x Bilt Points on housing payments.

If you choose the former, you can unlock the following, depending on which new Bilt credit card you have:

  • Bilt Obsidian Card (rates & fees) and Bilt Palladium Card holders can redeem $200 in Bilt Cash to unlock an additional 1 Bilt Point on everyday spend, up to $5,000 spent after activation. You can activate this accelerated earning rate up to 5 times per year, and it expires after the $5,000 spending threshold is met or the calendar year ends.

This means that Bilt Obsidian Card holders would earn 4x points on dining or groceries, 3x points on travel, and 2x points on all other purchases. Bilt Palladium Card holders would earn 3x points on all purchases.

What Else To Know

Remember that how much Bilt Cash you earn is a function of how much you spend on nonhousing purchases in a given month (you can also earn $50 in Bilt Cash for achieving 25,000-point status milestones).

If you’re dead-set on earning points on rent without paying a fee, you’ll want to redeem Bilt Cash earned to waive that fee in its entirety. If you have any Bilt Cash left over after that, you can then redeem it for anything listed above.

Alternatively, if you find value in any of the options listed above (the earnings accelerator option is certainly intriguing), you can consider forgoing the fee waiver and redeeming it in another way.

If all of this optionality seems confusing to you, you’re not alone. Bilt now has essentially 2 parallel programs running at the same time under the banner of Bilt 2.0, and has added another layer to consider by offering a dizzying array of options for redeeming Bilt Cash beyond achieving a rent-fee waiver to unlock 1x earnings on housing payments.

Hot Tip:

You’ll be able to choose how you want to use your Bilt Cash at the beginning of each month. Remember, though, that there are monthly and “until they’re used” credits. Monthly credits will reset at the start of the next month. Additionally, Bilt Cash expires at the end of each calendar year, though you can roll over up to $100 in Bilt Cash to the next calendar year.

Final Thoughts

Bilt has shared the first batch of available redemptions for Bilt Cash, and there are certainly plenty.

There’s no doubt that the math can show how certain users can come out way ahead by fine-tuning their spending habits to maximize earnings and returns on spend.

But as the saying goes, time is money, and we worry that adding yet another layer of complexity in the form of coupon-book-style credits (in wildly varying amounts) to remember will dissuade many from interacting with the new program. Of course, time will tell.
