The latest Wyndham Rewards promotion allows you to purchase Wyndham points with up to a 45% discount through December 31, 2024. If you have this 45% discount, you can purchase Wyndham points at a tempting rate for a future free night stay.

Here are the details of the promotion, a look at whether it’s a good deal, and how you can put these points to good use.

Buy Wyndham Points With up to a 45% Bonus

Through December 31, 2024, you can buy Wyndham Rewards points with a mystery discount of 35%, 40%, or 45%.

Visit Wyndham’s promotional page and click on Reveal Points Discount to see what bonus you’re targeted for.

As these are targeted offers, not everyone will have the 45% discount.

  • Purchase 3,000 to 200,000 points: 45% discount on purchase (0.71 cents per point)

We value Wyndham points at 0.9 cents each, so these prices are reasonable, letting you buy points for less than their average cost. Depending on what you plan to redeem these points for, buying them at 0.71 cents apiece could make sense.

Before we tackle that, here are the other terms of the promotion you should be aware of:

  • The promotion runs from now until December 31, 2024.
  • Purchases made during the promotion period will be applied against the annual maximum cap of 200,000 Wyndham Rewards points.
  • A minimum of 3,000 points is required to trigger the mystery discount.
  • Points will be posted to the recipient’s Wyndham Rewards account within 72 hours after the completed transaction.
  • Points purchases do not count toward Member Levels.
  • Point purchases are nonrefundable.
  • Not everyone will have the 45% offer.

Is It Worth It?

Wyndham offers 3 categories of award redemptions. But you can also redeem points at Vacasa vacation rentals, thanks to a partnership with Wyndham.

Here’s a look at redemption rates for all 3 categories of Wyndham properties and Vacasa rentals, along with the cash price you’d pay for the points if you were to maximize this promotion:

  • Category 1 (7,500 points per night): As low as $57
  • Category 2 (15,000 points per night): As low as $107.25
  • Category 3 (30,000 points per night): As low as $214.50
  • Vacasa Rental (15,000 or 30,000 points per bedroom): As low as $107.50

Depending on the property you’d like to visit, it could certainly be worth purchasing points at these rates. For instance, Vacasa vacation rentals can be quite expensive, especially in high-demand locations, so being able to book free nights at these properties starting at $107.50 per bedroom can be a phenomenal deal.

Don’t forget, though, that Wyndham Rewards is a 1:1 transfer partner of Capital One miles and Citi ThankYou Rewards. If you currently have a large balance of either of these currencies, it might make more sense to transfer instead of purchasing new points.

Hot Tip:

If you need additional redemption ideas, read through our guide on redeeming Wyndham Rewards points for maximum value.

Final Thoughts

Buying Wyndham points with a pretty good discount means you can purchase them for a lower cost than what the points are worth on average. If you’ve got the 45% discount, you can take home points for just 0.71 cents each. Buying points won’t always make sense, but if you can redeem them at a higher value than what you paid for them, it could make sense.

For those interested in taking advantage of the promotion, ensure that you do so before it ends on December 31.
