In 2023, Capital One elevated its lineup with the debut of its most premium business credit card yet: the Capital One Venture X Business Card. Modeled after the popular personal version, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, this card gave business owners the opportunity to enjoy the same luxury travel perks and more.

Beyond its breadth of benefits, perhaps the most enticing part of this card is its eye-popping welcome bonus offers — with up to 400,000 bonus points — for new applicants of the business version. That said, the minimum spending requirements are among the steepest we’ve ever seen, indicating that the Capital One Venture X Business card is truly designed for high-spending business owners in mind.

With the ability to earn 2x miles on most eligible purchases, access to Capital One’s growing list of airline and hotel transfer partners, and airport lounge access to Priority Pass™ Select and the issuer’s own network, there are many compelling reasons to keep the card beyond year one.

But for those new applicants, let’s take a look at the card’s welcome bonus offer history since its launch to help you decide the right moment to apply.

When To Apply for the Capital One Venture X Business Card

When it comes to welcome bonus offers, it can be dificult to know what’s truly on the table. Taking a look at previous welcome offers (and their minimum spending requirements) can help you determine if it’s a good time to apply or if you’re better off waiting for a larger bonus offer.

In fact, the Capital One Venture X Business card may be one of the most lucrative business cards out there. Business owners with a massive amount of monthly spend could find the Capital One Venture X Business card a wise choice to supercharge their points potential. Our points and miles valuations estimate that each mile is worth approximately 1.8 cents apiece, and thankfully, Capital One continues to evolve its program and add more transfer partners to its roster.

On the other hand, business owners who spend much more moderately could still come out way ahead with its standard welcome bonus offer.

Here’s the card’s welcome offer history since September 2023:

Capital One Venture X Business Card Overview

Despite its huge welcome bonus offer, the Capital One Venture X Business card’s $395 annual fee feels more reasonable in comparison.

That’s less than half the cost of the $895 annual fee (rates & fees) on The Business Platinum Card® from American Express and the $795 annual fee on the Sapphire Reserve for Business℠.

Final Thoughts

Welcome offers present a prime opportunity to earn a large number of miles once you meet the minimum spending requirement. Applying during an elevated bonus period can be especially rewarding — and as you can see, the Capital One Venture X Business card has even offered up to 350,000 bonus points as a welcome offer in the past. Typically, though, the standard 150,000-point bonus offer is more attainable for business owners with moderate spending levels.
