Disney fans, there’s a new top-tier credit card in Chase’s lineup, and it’s worth your attention. Meet the Disney® Inspire Visa® Card, sporting a $149 annual fee.

In exchange for that yearly cost, cardholders enjoy exclusive perks, earn rewards at higher rates, and can choose from exclusive card designs — plus enjoy perks available on Disney’s existing credit cards.

Should you add the Disney Inspire card to your wallet? Let’s check out the details to help you decide.

Benefits of the New Disney Inspire Card

Chase and Disney have launched the new Disney Inspire card with a limited-time welcome bonus offer for new applicants. New applicants can earn the following offer at launch:

  • Receive a $300 Disney Gift Card eGift on account approval and a $300 statement credit after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Unfortunately, we aren’t sure how long this launch offer will last.

Cardholders can choose from the same 11 credit card designs already available on the Disney® Visa® Card and Disney® Premier Visa® Card, plus 5 exclusive designs only available with the Disney Inspire card. The exclusive designs feature artwork from “Up,” “Coco,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Spider-Man,” and Mickey Mouse.

Hot Tip:

A Chase spokesperson confirmed that you can have more than 1 Disney card concurrently, though this card is subject to Chase’s existing application rules, including the 5/24 rule.

Earning and Redeeming With the Disney Inspire Card

Cardholders will earn Disney Rewards Dollars as follows:

  • 10% back as Rewards Dollars at Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+
  • 3% at most other U.S. Disney locations and at gas stations
  • 2% at grocery stores and restaurants
  • 1% on all other card purchases

When it’s time to redeem your Rewards Dollars, you can use them toward:

  • Disney vacations
  • Disney theme park tickets
  • Disney resort stays, shopping, and dining in the U.S.
  • Purchases at DisneyStore.com
  • Select Disney movies at AMC Theatres
  • Airline purchases via Chase’s Pay Yourself Back credits

Final Thoughts

Chase and Disney already had 2 co-branded credit cards. Now, there’s a third option, and it’s the most premium of the bunch.

The Disney Inspire card has a $149 annual fee, which is still modest compared to today’s credit card world of $800 fees. However, it offers several benefits Disney fans will enjoy, which can offset the card’s annual fee when used effectively. On top of those perks, the card has strong earning rates at Disney parks and even provides up to $10 per month in credits toward select streaming services.

Is this the ideal card for everyone? No. In fact, some Disney fans may still prefer a more general rewards credit card that doesn’t lock them into “can only be used at Disney” rewards. For others, the added perks and elevated earning rates will be welcome news.
