The Offer

From now until October 31, 2023, you’ll receive 2x Amtrak points on all Amtrak purchases — from coach class to business class to a sleeper room. Every Amtrak ticket will earn twice the points, so long as you register for the offer.

In an obvious point of fine print, you need to provide your Amtrak Guest Rewards member number when you book, and you won’t receive points on canceled or refunded tickets, though that hopefully shouldn’t surprise most folks.

Additionally, the offer applies to base points only, and you must be an Amtrak Guest Rewards member (sign up for free here) and include your membership number when making reservations for travel to qualify.

Where This May Come in Handy

Interestingly, any Amtrak points accumulated via this promotion will count toward Amtrak elite status — so if you earn 100 Amtrak points normally and then earn another 100 points via this promotion, that’s 200 points earned toward Amtrak status. Using Amtrak Points

You can redeem Amtrak points for a number of things, including:

• Amtrak tickets in all classes of service, including coach class, business class, first class (on Acela only), and a sleeping compartment on long-distance trains.
