Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

It isn’t cheap to fly to India, whether you’re looking to fly up front or in good old economy class. Happily, we’ve found discounted flights in business from all over the U.S. to India.

Let’s go over the details.

Fare Deal — Details

This fare sale comes courtesy of Saudia, the flag carrier for Saudi Arabia. We flew Saudia last year from Los Angeles (LAX) to Jeddah (JED), and while the soft product needed improvement, the hard product was excellent.

  • Class: Business
  • Routes: Los Angeles (LAX) to Kochi (COK) and New York (JFK) to Mumbai (BOM)
  • Dates: September 2023 to March 2024
  • Rates: As low as $2,587 round-trip

The cheapest routes we found come from the West Coast, which is unusual since it’s a much further distance. Here’s the rate from Los Angeles (LAX) to Kochi (COK).

If you’re located on the East Coast, you can also choose to hop from New York (JFK) to Mumbai (BOM).

Be aware that Saudia is a dry airline, so you won’t be served any Krug on these flights. However, they do offer a pre-departure date smoothie that’s still one of the best things we’ve ever had on an airline.

Best Ways to Book

Searching for these flights brings up a number of ways to book, including options via online travel agencies (OTA) or directly with these airlines. It’s a few dollars cheaper to go with an OTA, but you’ll want to be careful about doing so as they can be frustrating to deal with if you need to make changes or cancellations. Still, if this is what you choose, rely on a card such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, which will earn you 3x Ultimate Rewards on all travel purchases.

If booking directly with Saudia, The Platinum Card® from American Express will earn 5x Membership Rewards points on flights purchased directly with the airline or through AmexTravel.com (up to $500,000 per year; then 1x points).

Final Thoughts

It’s not often that we see good fares in business class on flights to India. With a broad range of dates available and a few different airports to choose from, if you were looking forward to traveling to India in comfort, now is as good a time as any to book this fare deal. We don’t expect these prices to last long, so if you’re looking to book, jump on it now!
