Frontier Airlines has announced 4 new routes connecting cities in Texas to New Jersey, and from Nevada to Tennessee. As always, the low-cost airline is offering limited-time introductory fares that start at just $49 one-way.

“We are very pleased to announce these new routes, offering more low-cost service across the U.S. just in time for the summer travel season,” said Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design at Frontier.

Let’s take a closer look at Frontier’s latest network update.

Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) is growing in importance for Frontier, so it’s no surprise that 2 routes will be added here.

With the addition of Santa Ana (SNA), Frontier will serve 5 destinations in California nonstop from Dallas. Of course, it will face stiff competition from American Airlines, which operates its largest hub at DFW, on the route. As for the Dallas to Newark route, Frontier will compete with American, Spirit, and United, all of which offer daily nonstop service between the 2 airports.

On its new route between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Washington, D.C. (IAD), Frontier will face United, making it the only low-cost carrier to fly between the 2 cities.

The same cannot be said for the route between Las Vegas (LAS) and Nashville (BNA), on which Delta, Spirit, and Southwest all offer nonstop service.

Hot Tip:

If you’re tempted by the low fares on Frontier’s new routes, we recommend using a travel rewards credit card that could enhance your experience with perks and benefits.

Final Thoughts

If you’re plotting out your summer travel, you’ll want to take note of these new Frontier routes, especially because fares start at just $49 one-way. And we wouldn’t be surprised if we learn of even more new options from the low-cost carrier as the summer season draws closer.
