We value IHG points at 0.5 cents per point, giving these bonuses a value of $700 for the IHG Traveler card, $825 for the IHG Premier card, and $1,000 for the IHG Premier Business card. Of course, the full value you receive from each card’s welcome offer depends on how you redeem the points and free night certificates you receive.

It should come as no surprise that the 2 best cards from a benefits perspective are the IHG Premier card and the IHG Premier Business card.

Both help you earn 10 points per $1 on your IHG stays; offer automatic Platinum Elite status; include a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS credit; and come with an annual free night certificate. That said, they both charge annual fees, as well.

Given that, if you only ocassionally stay at IHG hotels and are looking for a card to help enhance these stays with complimentary elite status while still giving you access to the fourth night free on award stays, all without having to pay an annual fee, then the IHG Traveler card would be the better card for you.
