We’ve known for quite some time that JetBlue would introduce a domestic first class product, but there weren’t many other details.

Now, the picture is becoming a bit clearer. The upcoming first class product now has a name — BlueFirst — and it will launch later this year.

Additionally, the carrier is adding further fare segmentation across its 4 cabin experiences, including basic options.

Here’s everything you need to know about JetBlue’s new cabin offerings.

JetBlue’s New First Class Coming This Year

Before the end of 2026, JetBlue will introduce its new domestic first class product: BlueFirst. This product will be a step below the airline’s lauded Mint product, which features lie-flat seats and even enclosed suites. We’ve known about this for a while now.

Expect larger recliner seats, similar to those you’d find in first class cabins on American Airlines, Delta, or United flights. Aside from confirmation that BlueFirst is coming this year, the airline hasn’t shared much more information about its newest product. We’re sure we’ll be learning more details as we get closer to its launch.

More Basic Fares on the Way, Though Not for Mint

With the new BlueFirst product on the horizon, JetBlue has given its onboard cabin products a little shuffle and has added further segmentation across the board, meaning the basic experience is being expanded.

Here’s a look at the cabin offerings you’ll be able to choose from:

  • Main (formerly Core): This is a typical economy experience that offers free Fly-Fi Wi-Fi, a seatback monitor with live TV, and complimentary snacks and beverages.
  • EvenMore: Offers economy seats with extra legroom, priority security (subject to availability), early boarding, dedicated overhead bins, up to 3 complimentary alcoholic beverages, and more.
  • BlueFirst: This is the new first class product that will be rolling out later this year on aircraft that don’t already have a Mint cabin.
  • Mint: This is JetBlue’s most premium cabin, which features lie-flat seats (and sometimes enclosed suites) with elevated catering and service, available on international long-haul, premium transcontinental, and a smattering of other routes across the carrier’s network.

Once you choose an onboard experience, you can then select between 3 fare types: Base, Standard, and Flex. Here’s what you can expect from each:

  • Base: Think of this as a basic fare. Seat selection isn’t included; changes can be made for a fee; cancellations are issued as a travel credit less any applicable fees; tickets earn 1 TrueBlue point per $1; and 1 carry-on bag is included. Available as Main Base, EvenMore Base, and BlueFirst Base.
  • Standard: Seat selection is included; changes are permitted without fees; cancellations are issued as travel credit without fees; tickets earn 3 TrueBlue points per $1; and 1 carry-on bag is included. Available as Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst, and Mint.
  • Flex: Seat selection is included; changes are permitted without fees; cancellations are issued to the original method of payment; same-day switches and standby are included without additional fees; and tickets earn 3 TrueBlue points per $1; and 1 carry-on bag is included. Available as Main Flex, EvenMore Flex, BlueFirst Flex, and Mint Flex.

Notably, there are no Base Mint fares available, meaning JetBlue has chosen not to follow United and Delta‘s lead in offering a basic business class product — at least for now.

Final Thoughts

JetBlue’s forthcoming first class product now has a name — BlueFirst — and it should launch before the end of this year. Along with the new cabin product, the airline is standardizing and simplifying its fare structure across all cabins, though, fortunately, it has decided against offering a basic Mint fare. We just hope it stays that way.
