Applications are officially open for the JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard®, issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank.

The card comes with a limited-time welcome offer of 70,000 TrueBlue points and 5 tiles toward Mosaic qualification after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months of card ownership. However, the offer says those who have or had The JetBlue Plus Card aren’t eligible, meaning many of JetBlue’s most loyal customers can’t get these bonus points.

“As our first-ever premium credit card, designed with input from our customers and most loyal Mosaic members, it builds on the perks of our TrueBlue and Mosaic programs to deliver more benefits both on the ground and in the air,” said Chris Buckner.

Let’s look at the details of JetBlue’s first premium credit card.

Details of JetBlue’s New Premium Credit Card

The JetBlue Premier card has an annual fee of $499. Applications are already open here.

While the annual fee may be on the higher side, the card offers numerous perks and benefits that might be highly valuable to JetBlue frequent flyers.

Lounge Benefits

By the end of 2025, JetBlue will have opened its first-ever airport lounges at its main hubs in New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS).

Primary cardholders of the JetBlue Premier card, along with 1 guest, will get complimentary access to these lounges once they are open.

Additionally, the card comes with a complimentary Priority Pass membership (upon enrollment), which gives access to over 1,500 lounges worldwide.

The Priority Pass membership can be used when flying any airline, not just JetBlue.

Benefits When Flying JetBlue

Here are the benefits you can expect when flying JetBlue as a JetBlue Premier cardholder:

  • Group A boarding for the cardholder and a maximum of 4 eligible companions
  • JetBlue flights booked with the JetBlue Premier card will come with a free checked bag for the cardholder and 3 companions (must be on the same reservation)
  • 50% discount on eligible inflight food and drink purchases

Statement Credits and Discounts

In addition to elite status perks, the card also comes with several hundred dollars of statement credits and discounts, including when applying for Global Entry and TSA PreCheck:

  • Up to $120 Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee credit every 4 years
  • Up to $300 in statement credits annually on Paisly travel bookings by way of $50 credit for each qualifying transaction of at least $250 (up to 6 transactions per calendar year)
  • 5,000 annual anniversary points upon payment of annual fee
  • Earn 10% points back after booking reward flights on JetBlue-operated flights
  • Redeem points for statement credits when making purchases of $25 or more
  • No foreign transaction fees

Increased Points Earning and Bonus Tiles

Spending on the card will also earn up to 6x bonus points per $1 spent. The bonus earning criteria looks like this:

  • 6x points per $1 spent on eligible JetBlue, Paisly, and JetBlue Vacations bookings
  • 2x points per $1 spent on dining and eligible grocery stores
  • 1x point per $1 spent on all other purchases.

As for bonus tiles, cardmembers will earn 1 tile for every $1,000 in eligible spending. The more a cardmember spends, the quicker they’ll be able to earn Mosaic status and unlock new Perks You Pick along the way.

World Elite Mastercard Benefits

And finally, World Elite Mastercards come with additional perks and benefits, including:

  • 24/7 concierge service
  • Travel assistance, trip cancellation, and interruption coverage
  • Savings through exclusive partnerships
Hot Tip:

For frequent JetBlue travelers, the perks and benefits of this card, which has an annual fee of $499, may be worthwhile. However, if you’d rather spend less, the $99-annual-fee The JetBlue Plus Card comes with similar perks and benefits.

Final Thoughts

JetBlue has introduced a premium card, and the JetBlue Premier card is now available for new applicants. If you frequently travel with JetBlue, this new premium credit card might enhance your experience with the airline. However, the card itself feels somewhat lacking overall.

Even though the annual fee is steep, the perks and benefits, such as statement credits, anniversary bonus points, and lounge access (when it opens in late 2025), could make it a decent choice for JetBlue loyalists. Just note that the Paisly credits may be difficult to use.

However, if you are not a frequent JetBlue flier, the JetBlue Plus card, which provides comparable benefits but has a considerably lower annual fee, might be a better choice for you.

Stay tuned for a comprehensive review of the card in the near future!
