We’re just over a month until the launch of the highly anticipated Luminara, from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. The ship is expected to make its maiden voyage from Monte Carlo to Rome on July 3, 2025.

Marriott shared a few details about the ship ahead of the launch. Here’s what you need to know.

Luminara Sets Sail July 2025

Luminara, Latin for “light,” will span 794 feet and boast 226 suites that can accommodate up to 452 guests. Each suite will have its own private terrace.

The yacht will offer 5 dining options, including 2 helmed by James Beard award-winning and Michelin-starred chefs. These include an Italian restaurant offering an 8-course tasting menu and restaurants serving Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and pan-Asian cuisine.

Amenities include the signature Ritz-Carlton spa, a fitness center, a pool where guests can swim directly into the sea, watersports activities, and onboard shopping.

Luminara will embark on voyages in Alaska and Asia, marking a first for the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection brand.

And Ritz-Carlton has even bigger plans for its newest yacht: Luminara will traverse Africa and the Indian Ocean before beginning Asia-Pacific itineraries, including Vietnam and Japan, in December 2025. Starting in May 2026, Luminara will visit Alaska and Canada during the summer.

“With Luminara, we’ve raised the bar once again, uniting legendary service, elevated design, and an extraordinary onboard experience to further define our distinct approach to ultra-luxury travel at sea,” said Ernesto Fara, president of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

What To Know About The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection

Marriott launched The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in 2022 and now has 3 ships: Evirma, Ilma, and Luminara.

Luxury is the name of the game here, and you can expect the high level of service the Ritz-Carlton brand is famous for. However, such luxury doesn’t come cheap: the most affordable option, a 3-night cruise on Ilma, starts from $3,100. Luminara is even pricier, with sailings ranging from $7,800 to $22,300.

Still, you can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for your sailings, as The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program.

Bottom Line:

You will earn 5x Marriott points per $1 spent on The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection fares and hotel packages. You can redeem an initial 180,000 points toward a $1,000 savings on your cruise fare, and increments of 90,000 points toward a $500 savings thereafter. Additionally, you’ll earn 1 Elite Night Credit per night onboard.

Final Thoughts

Marriott released some exciting new details about Luminara, its yacht that will travel throughout Asia and Alaska this year and next. The ultra-luxe yacht will feature private terraces in every suite, multiple dining options, and fantastic amenities — but they’ll come at a steep price!
