Update: The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.
Marriott Bonvoy has launched an exciting new promotion, especially for those looking to progress through the program’s elite tiers.
From February 8 through May 4, 2022, members will earn 1,000 bonus points and 1 bonus Elite Night Credit per night stayed.
Let’s take a look at the terms and conditions and what this promotion could mean for you.
Every Night Counts Even More Promo: The Small Print
First and foremost, the promotion is marketed as having “no earning limits.” However, once you register, you’ll see the below progress bar that states “85 nights maximum.” Don’t let this throw you — 85 nights is in fact the duration of the promotional period, so you wouldn’t technically be able to earn more bonus points than that, even though the wording also states “unlimited.”

Only stays made after registration will be eligible for the bonus points and Elite Night Credits.
As you might expect, redemption nights, Cash + Points or points redemptions, and free night award certificates will not trigger the promotion. Neither will stays booked through third-party online retailers and most travel agents.
Owner-occupied week stays at Marriott Executive Apartments, Marriott Vacation Club, and Homes and Villas by Marriott International will not earn bonus points and Elite Night Credits.
Progress to the Next Tier of Status Faster
This promotion is particularly interesting for those looking to climb through the ranks of Marriott Bonvoy elite status this year.
During the promotion window from February 8 through May 4, 2022, earning double Elite Night Credits means that you’ll be able to progress to the next level with half the number of stays and half the cost.
For example, staying just 5 nights at Marriott properties during the promotion period would earn you Silver Elite status, while 13 would get you to Gold Elite.

Hot Tip: Owning a Marriott Bonvoy credit card is a great way to enhance your stays and earn bonus points.
Bonus Points Are Less Exciting
Receiving 1,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points per night stayed isn’t a huge amount of points to get excited about. Given that stays at the more luxury properties cost upwards of 50,000 per night, you’d need to stay at least 50 nights out of the 85 promotion nights to be even close to redeeming a 1-night stay somewhere fancy.
Worse still, Marriott Bonvoy removed its award chart and moved to dynamic pricing in March 2022, meaning redemption costs will go up and down depending on room rates and availability. This is ultimately bad news for those who like to use Marriott Bonvoy points for stays.
Final Thoughts
Marriot Bonvoy’s latest promotion is worth getting excited about, especially if you had plans to climb through the elite status ranks in 2022.
Whether you’d be able to earn enough stays to progress within the promotion period or not, there’s definitely potential to earn a few bonus Elite Night Credits, which will give you a head start and mean you’ll need to earn fewer Elite Night Credits over the rest of the year.
