Bilt Rewards continues to make changes and improvements to its program. The latest addition is the ability to redeem Bilt Rewards points at a selection of retailers across the nation, including popular pharmacy chains like CVS and Walgreens.

Let’s check out the details and the value you can expect from these kinds of redemptions.

Redeem Points for Retail Purchases

Bilt Rewards envisions itself as a loyalty platform for the neighborhood, so it’s added the ability to redeem Bilt Rewards points at prominent national retailers, including Citgo, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart, for a total of up to $10 in savings at checkout.

Right now, Bilt Rewards members who have a Bilt Mastercard® (rates & fees) can redeem their Bilt Points at a rate of 0.55 cents per point at retailers worldwide, though points will be worth 0.7 cents per point at Neighborhood Pharmacy Walgreens. Note, too, that a Bilt spokesperson said that these values could be boosted during the platform’s monthly Rent Day promotions.

Bilt said that more retailers will be added to the roster soon, including BP, Dollar General, and more. Also, while this new functionality is limited to Bilt Cardholders for the time being, it will be expanded to Bilt Rewards members with a credit card linked to their Bilt Wallet in the third quarter of this year — meaning sometime between July and September 2025.

Here’s how you can redeem your Bilt Rewards points at participating retail stores:

  • Find a list of participating retailers in your Bilt app under the “Shop with Points” section.
  • Use your Bilt Card to pay for your purchases.
  • The payment terminal will ask if you want to redeem points. Select “Yes” to do so.

Is It Worth It?

As mentioned above, Bilt Rewards points will be worth 0.55 cents per point when redeemed at most retailers but 0.7 cents per point at Neighborhood Pharmacy Walgreens. Also, there’s a maximum of $10 in savings on each transaction.

If you’re shopping at a Neighborhood Pharmacy Walgreens, you’ll need to redeem about 1,429 points to achieve the full $10 savings. At other retailers, the $10 savings is achieved by redeeming about 1,818 points.

Considering the fact that Bilt Rewards has an impressive (and still-growing) list of transfer partners, you can certainly get more value for your points when you transfer them to partners and book travel. However, if you have a small points balance or simply want to save some money on your purchases at these kinds of stores, this is a great option to have.

Final Thoughts

Bilt Cardholders now have a new option for redeeming points, and all Bilt Rewards members will soon have the same option. The redemption values at retailers like Citgo, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart aren’t earth-shattering, and you’re almost guaranteed to get better value when you transfer points to a travel partner. Nevertheless, it’s a nice option to have.

More retailers will be added to this list soon, and we expect Bilt to continue forging partnerships that will open up even more opportunities for redeeming points in the future.
