What We Know About the New Escape Lounge in SAN

The upcoming Escape Lounge at San Diego International Airport (SAN) will be a standalone facility, not part of the Centurion Studio network. Still, it will be accessible to Priority Pass members.

This means American Express, Chase, Capital One, and other premium cardholders with Priority Pass benefits can enjoy the lounge, making it a convenient option for many travelers.

The space itself will span nearly 10,000 square feet and include an 899-square-foot lobby, 6,860 square feet of enclosed interior lounge space, and an expansive 2,085-square-foot outdoor terrace — perfect for sunny San Diego weather.

Designed for families and business travelers, the lounge’s documents say the space will offer quiet areas, individual workspaces, a kids’ section, in-lounge restrooms, showers, a nursing room, TV lounges, plentiful charging stations, complimentary Wi-Fi, and self-service printing. Guests can enjoy food, beverages, and a full bar, along with flight information displays to stay on top of their travel plans.

The lounge will operate year-round, opening at least 30 minutes before the first security checkpoint until the last departure. The space will occupy Level 3 of Terminal 1, with lobby access via stairs or elevator, and will also offer day-pass access for travelers without a Priority Pass membership.

If you’re not already familiar, San Diego’s Terminal 1 is being completely rebuilt in 2 phases. Phase 1A will serve carriers like Southwest, Frontier, Spirit, Sun Country, JetBlue, Allegiant, and Breeze, while Phase 1B, projected for 2028, will include Delta. The modernized terminal will feature 30 gates in total, a new roadway, and an updated parking plaza.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

San Diego is getting a new Escape Lounge, and the best part is that it will be accessible to Priority Pass members. This means plenty of travelers will have the chance to enjoy a comfortable, well-equipped space to relax, work, or grab a bite before their flights.
