Southwest is out with a new limited-time offer for select Southwest credit cardholders that awards 4x bonus points on every dollar spent. It’s not a bad deal on its own, but it gets even more interesting when you combine it with other current promotions.

Let’s get into the details so you can start earning lots of Rapid Rewards points.

4x Bonus Points on Southwest Credit Cards

There’s a new targeted Southwest promotion offering an opportunity to earn 4x bonus points per $1 spent on Southwest cards on up to $2,000 in purchases through February 29, 2024.

Registration is required.

Here are the details:

• Earn 4x bonus points for each $1 spent on a Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card, up to $2,000 in purchases.
• Purchases must be made between January 1, 2024, and February 29, 2024.
• Registration is required by February 29, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Purchases will retroactively earn bonus points after registration.
• Bonus points count toward Southwest Companion Pass qualification but not towards Southwest elite status.
• The following will not earn bonus points: balance transfers, cash advances, traveler’s checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or other cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, racetrack wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, any fees including the annual fee.
• Earned bonus points will be posted to your Southwest account (they will not appear on your credit card statement) within 8 weeks of the promotion end date.

Combine Up to 2 Southwest Credit Card Offers

This is a nice opportunity on its own to earn Southwest Rapid Rewards points. However, it gets really interesting when you look at another promotion currently available:

• Chase.com/mybonus: Some Southwest credit cardholders may be targeted for a bonus through chase.com/mybonus. This offer is for 5x to 10x points at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and/or Amazon for up to $1,000 in combined purchases from January 15, 2024, through March 31, 2024.

In theory, these promotions could all stack for tremendous points earning, however, the details are a bit unclear. Let’s look at an example to see how many points you could earn if these deals work together as they should.

If you made a $100 purchase in a non-bonus category that’s included in the chase.com/mybonus promo, like grocery stores, here’s what you could earn if you maximized all of these promotions.

• 100 base points for the purchase
• 400 bonus points from the Chase 4x bonus points promo
• 400 bonus points from the chase.com/mybonus 5x promo

That’s 900 points for a $100 purchase, which works out to be 9 points per dollar! Of course, your results may vary based on what promotions you were targeted for, but there is great potential to rack up some serious Southwest points.
