If you have a Citi credit card, you’ll want to pay close attention because you may be able to earn up to 5x points and 10% cash-back from targeted spending offers.

Citi Targeted Spending Offers

Since these offers are targeted, it’s important to note that not everyone will receive them, or receive the same offer if they do.

That being said, it would be a good idea to check both your email and physical mailbox, as my wife and I have received offers via snail mail this week. Only 2 days after obtaining the offer via mail, we received another offer via email, so it’s worth checking both places.

For example, I received an email from Citi that I could earn up to 10% cash-back on my Costco Anywhere Visa^® Card by Citi if I activated the offer by August 15. The eligible spending period for this round of offers run through September 30, 2024.

Targeted cardholders can earn 10% back at restaurants, movie theaters, and show theaters. Note the maximum of $25 cash-back, meaning I’ll maximize this offer with $250 of spending.

We’ve also seen offers on our Citi Strata Premier℠ Card, Citi Rewards+^® Card, and Citi ThankYou^® Preferred Card (which is closed to new applicants). In past rounds of offers, we’ve seen bonus earnings on the Citi^® / AAdvantage^® Platinum Select^® World Elite Mastercard^®, but nothing has come in yet for that card for us personally. That doesn’t mean you won’t see offers on co-branded cards or find different offers altogether.

Offers we’ve received include these:

Earn 5x bonus ThankYou Points at electronics, home improvement, and home furnishing stores — up to a maximum of $500 in spending
Earn 5x bonus ThankYou Points at restaurants and retail shopping — up to a maximum of $500 in spending
Earn 10% bonus cash-back at restaurants, movie theaters, and show theaters — up to a maximum of $25 back

These offers all end on September 30, 2024 and require enrollment by August 15.

Hot Tip:

There’s no harm in enrolling for these offers, even if you don’t think you’ll maximize them. If you get an offer, put that card in the front of your wallet to remember to use it during the bonus earning period.

Final Thoughts

Citi is sending out its latest round of targeted spending offers for cardholders. These offers typically don’t include small business credit cards, and not everyone will see the same offer — if any at all — on their personal cards. If you receive an offer, remember to activate it.
