Everybody loves saving money. If you’re looking to apply for — or renew — a TSA PreCheck or CLEAR membership, there’s a new way to bundle the 2 for just $199.

Even better, you can wipe the charges entirely with the right credit card.

Let’s take a look at the deal.

New TSA PreCheck Bundle Promo From CLEAR

CLEAR sent members an email on February 23 with an exciting new promo.

If you’re a CLEAR member, you can enroll or renew your TSA PreCheck for $77.95 by heading to a CLEAR lane with your passport or other ID. You’ll be able to apply in minutes — and with no appointment necessary. If you renew online, that fee drops to just $68.95.

However, CLEAR is also offering a bundled deal. You’ll get a 5-year TSA PreCheck membership ($77.95) and your first year of CLEAR Plus ($122) for just $199.95. If enrolling online, the bundled price drops to $190.95.

Those bundles are pretty solid deals, considering the unbundled price is $267.

How to Pay for TSA PreCheck and CLEAR Memberships

This is a solid bundled deal, especially if you want to save money on either membership. However, this isn’t the only way to get a discounted membership to either program.

Several credit cards offer statement credits to offset a TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or CLEAR membershipor a combination of either TSA PreCheck and CLEAR or Global Entry and CLEAR. Let’s take a look at a few:

  • The Platinum Card® from American Express: Up to $189 statement credit per year towards a CLEAR Plus membership, upon enrollment; and either a $100 statement credit every 4 years for a Global Entry application fee or a statement credit up to $85 every 4.5 years for a TSA PreCheck (through a TSA official enrollment provider)
  • American Express® Green Card: Up to $189 statement credit per year towards a CLEAR Plus membership, upon enrollment
  • United Club℠ Infinite Card: Discounted price of $149 per year for a CLEAR membership, and up to $100 application fee credit every 4 years for Global Entry, NEXUS, or TSA PreCheck
  • Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card: Up to a $100 credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck®
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve®: Up to $100 application fee credit every 4 years for Global Entry, NEXUS, or TSA PreCheck
Hot Tip:

Delta SkyMiles travelers with Diamond Medallion or Delta 360° status and United MileagePlus Premier 1K and Global Services also receive a complimentary CLEAR membership.

Final Thoughts

This is a pretty decent promo, giving you a savings of around $60 when bundling a TSA PreCheck and CLEAR membership.

Plus, if you have a card that covers the cost of either membership, you should absolutely take advantage of those benefits.
