COMO Hotels and Resorts boasts luxury travel experiences, personalized service, and individually-curated amenities to showcase each property’s location.

Born in 1991 at COMO Hotels and Resorts’ maiden property at The Halkin in London, the brand has now expanded to 14 properties in 8 countries.

Going against the grain of rapid expansion, COMO Hotels and Resorts has opted to perfect its hospitality model to give its guests and loyalists a hush-hush exclusivity that makes this brand so special.

Let’s examine what COMO is about!

What Is COMO Hotels and Resorts?

Whether you’re looking for laser-precision service at a city hotel, anticipatory hospitality at a private island resort, or just a sustainable eco-luxury experience, COMO has got you covered.

Its founder, Singaporean businesswoman Christina Ong, developed the brand to help travelers draw inspiration from each of these compelling destinations, starting with world-class cuisine, exacting service, and mind-body wellness.

Its mission? To deliver on 3 core values:

  • Creativity — “We love original ideas and initiative. We inspire our guests and one another.”
  • Passion — “We care for our guests and one another with energy, warmth, and spontaneity.”
  • Style — “We are authentic, genuine and consistent, valuing integrity over quick solutions.”

Whether you’re sunbathing in Turks and Caicos or participating in a Buddhist ritual in Bhutan’s mythical valleys, COMO Hotels and Resorts is committed to curating extraordinary experiences.

How To Maximize COMO Stays With Credit Cards

To get the most out of your stay, you should pay attention to what credit cards you use, as well as what websites or methods you use to book your reservation.

COMO Hotels and Resorts doesn’t have a dedicated loyalty program, making it impossible to earn and redeem points for award stays.

But don’t fret, because there are plenty of ways to use points for stays at COMO properties around the world. There are also lots of ways to get extra value from paid stays, too!

How To Use Points for COMO Stays

Redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards Points

The best-value way to use points for COMO stays is through Chase’s rewards currency, Ultimate Rewards.

On specific cards, you can earn Ultimate Rewards points on all of your purchases, including dining and travel. Once you’ve accumulated enough points, you can use these points for COMO stays when you book through the Chase travel portal. In doing so, you can get 1.0 to 1.5 cents per point of redemption value.

You’ll get 1 cent per point of value if you hold the Chase Freedom Flex℠Chase Freedom Unlimited®Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, or Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card. You’ll get 1.25 cents per point (a 25% bonus) if you hold the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card. Lastly, you’ll get 1.5 cents per point (a 50% bonus) if you have the ultra-premium Chase Sapphire Reserve®.

That means redeeming 100,000 points at COMO Hotels and Resorts could be worth $1,250 if you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred card.

Redeeming Citi ThankYou Points

Similar to Chase with Ultimate Rewards, Citi’s points currency is called ThankYou Rewards, and if you book travel through the Citi Travel Center, you can use Citi ThankYou Points for a fixed value of 1 cent per point.

Beyond hotels, other ways to use ThankYou Points include flights, car rentals, and cruises.

Redeeming Capital One Miles

Capital One miles, which are earned through a series of Venture and Spark credit cards, can be redeemed for a variety of purposes.

But for COMO Hotels and Resorts bookings, you can redeem your Capital One miles through Capital One Travel at a value of 1 cent per point.

Redeeming Amex Membership Rewards Points

The last points program we’ll discuss is Amex Membership Rewards. Normally, we are huge fans of Amex Membership Rewards, simply because it offers incredible redemption value.

But in this case, using Amex points for COMO stays is only doable through the AmexTravel.com portal. When you do this, you’ll get a redemption value of 0.7 cents per point, simply because COMO does not fall under the Fine Hotels & Resorts designation (where you can get 1 cent per point of value). At best, you’ll get a redemption value of 0.7 cents per point and get benefits via The Hotel Collection. However, not all COMO properties participate in this, so be wary of that, too.

Book via Amex’s The Hotel Collection

Whether you’re booking a paid stay or a points stay, 3 COMO properties (COMO Metropolitan Bangkok, COMO Metropolitan London, and COMO Uma Ubud) come with extra benefits when you book through Amex.

When you book a minimum 2-night stay at properties in The Hotel Collection, you will get the following perks:

  • $100 property credit
  • Room upgrade upon arrival, subject to availability

You must have an American Express® Gold Card, American Express® Business Gold Card, The Platinum Card® from American Express, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, or Centurion® Card from American Express to book a stay at The Hotel Collection.

Hot Tip: If you hold the Amex Platinum card, you can get up to $200 in statement credits towards a prepaid hotel stay of 2 or more nights with The Hotel Collection when booked through AmexTravel.com!

Book via Virtuoso

Booking through Virtuoso affords you with more benefits and doesn’t require a specific Amex card:

  • Daily breakfast for 2
  • A room upgrade upon arrival, subject to availability
  • Late checkout and early check-in, subject to availability
  • A Virtuoso amenity, such as a $100 food and beverage credit or a $100 property credit
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi

The following properties participate in Virtuoso:

  • COMO Castello del Nero
  • COMO Maalifushi
  • COMO Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos
  • COMO Shambhala Estate
  • COMO The Treasury, Perth
  • COMO Uma, Bhutan

Using the Citi Prestige® Card Fourth-Night Free Benefit

If you happen to have the Citi Prestige card (no longer open for new applications), you can use the handy fourth-night free benefit to save up to 25% off of your booking.

To use this benefit (up to twice per calendar year), you’ll need to book through the ThankYou Rewards website or over the phone by calling 800-THANK-YOU.

As long as you go through these channels and book a reservation of 4 consecutive nights or more, you’ll get your fourth night free.

Book Directly for Exclusive Offers and Packages

COMO has exclusive offers and packages available for those who book direct.

Each property has different offers, and they range from offering a collection of marine activities, transformational health retreat packages, complimentary third night free, or complimentary round-trip airport transfers.

However, these are only available when booking directly with COMO.

The exclusive COMO Maalifushi is our favorite property within the entire brand. As the only resort in the Thaa Atoll in the southern Maldives, this property affords you immense exclusivity and timeless luxuries.

A 1-hour seaplane ride away from Male International Airport (MLE), this boutique property was masterminded by Japanese architect Koichiro Ikebushi and features 33 overwater villas and 32 rooms, villas, suites, and residences.

Each of the rooms is at least 775 square feet large and comes with open floor plans. The garden rooms have outdoor decks and furniture for alfresco dining, while the overwater villas have private jetties and sunrise views.

The entry-level garden rooms each have a private sundeck with loungers, a superb king-sized bed, floor-to-ceiling windows, an interior sitting area, a flat-screen TV, a Nespresso coffee machine, tea facilities, a separate shower and soaking bathtub, and a lush outdoor garden.

COMO Maalifushi has 3 dining options, as well as intimate private dining and room service.

Indulge in a spa treatment in 8 double treatment pavilions or make use of the steam, sauna, Jacuzzi, open-air yoga, fitness center, 44-meter lap pool, shopping boutique, kids’ center, library, watersports center, and dive center. There’s also event and meeting space available, should you need it.

To book a stay at COMO Maalifushi, expect to spend around $1,500 per night on average. If you stay during the off-season, that can go down to $1,200 per night. But if you stay during the high season, you’ll pay as much as $3,300 per night.

COMO Shambhala Estate is one of COMO’s flagship resorts. Located near Ubud, Bali, the setting for Hollywood blockbuster “Eat, Pray, Love,” this property throws you into the glorious tropics with incredible service to boot.

Situated on more than 22 acres of lush rainforest, this spa resort is on the Ayung River banks and is around 6 miles from Ubud.

Each of the rooms measures at least 344 square feet to start and has a 4-poster king or queen bed. Also, you’ll find a flat-screen TV, a private bar, coffee and tea facilities, a furnished balcony, free Wi-Fi, and a yoga mat.

The bathroom is appointed with a soaking bathtub, single vanity, a magnifying make-up mirror, and luxurious COMO bath and body products.

There is 1 fine-dining Indonesian restaurant, as well as an all-day venue serving international cuisine.

This resort specializes in health and spa facilities, which shows in its yoga and Pilates offerings, as well as a 25-meter lap pool, tennis court, outdoor jungle gyms, fitness centers, hydrotherapy area, sauna, and steam rooms, plus the chemical-free natural spring water pools.

COMO Shambhala Estate can be booked for $550 per night, on average, $525 per night during the off-peak season, and $585 per night during the high season. As you can see, price fluctuations aren’t bad at this property.

3. COMO Castello Del Nero (Italy)

COMO Castello Del Nero

Despite its name, COMO’s Italian property is not located in Lake Como! Instead, its sole resort in Italy is in Tuscany’s luscious Barberine Tavarnelle municipality.

The property is a 12th-century castle 2 miles from Museo D’Arte Sacra and 10 miles from Castello della Paneretta winery.

Dotted with 50 rooms and suites, the Paola Navone-designed resort has open-air and cool-toned aesthetics. Each room starts at 269 square feet large and is filled with Tuscan charm.

The rooms have either courtyard or garden views and 1 queen bed or 2 twin beds — other amenities include original terracotta floors, high ceilings, Egyptian cotton bedding and linens, a work desk, a lounge chair, a flat-screen TV, coffee and tea facilities, and a minibar.

The chic bathroom has a double vanity, a clawfoot soaking bathtub, a walk-in shower, COMO Shambhala amenities, cotton bathrobes and slippers, and a wall-mounted make-up mirror.

You’ll find 3 dining venues here, including Michelin-starred La Torre, the casual all-day restaurant, an alfresco Mediterranean pavilion with views of the rolling hills and olive groves, and even a wine cellar.

Enjoy the spa, sauna, steam room, heated indoor pool, tennis courts, fitness center, and seasonal outdoor pool. Of course, there’s meeting and event space available, too.

COMO Castello Del Nero costs around $625 per night during off-peak dates, $750 per night during standard dates, and $1,100 per night during peak dates.

4. COMO The Treasury (Australia)

COMO The Treasury is one of Perth’s most intimate boutique luxury hotels boasting the best of both worlds: a contemporary flair and historic heart. This redbrick building is a 6-minute walk from Barrack Street wharf and 2 miles from Kings Park and Botanic Garden.

In each room, you’ll find high ceilings, handcrafted furniture, city or courtyard views, spacious sitting areas, a desk, oversized opening windows with electronic sheers and blackout blinds, a custom-made king or 2 twin beds, Illy coffee and tea facilities, a Samsung LED TV, a complimentary in-room private bar replenished daily, and a built-in wardrobe and luggage rack.

Making your way to the bathroom, you’ll feast your eyes on a full spa bathroom, complete with a soaking bathtub, a walk-in rain shower, twin vanities, LED-backlit mirrors, a water closet, and a suite of COMO Shambhala amenities.

There are 2 full-service restaurants, a cocktail bar and afternoon tea spot, a full spa, a gym, an indoor pool, and yoga/fitness classes available.

COMO Cocoa Island is our second Maldives property on this list, but it delivers a totally different experience.

COMO Cocoa Island resembles more of a private island experience, with just 34 suites and villas (all overwater) in the South Malé atoll, just a short speedboat ride from the airport.

The entry-level villa is 807 square feet large and resembles a traditional Maldivian fishing boat (dhoni) — it has a king bed, a separate living area with a couch, a coffee table, and a flat-screen TV, a private minibar, Nespresso coffee and tea facilities, and a sundeck with loungers and a staircase that leads you to the lagoon’s clear waters for easy snorkeling!

The bathroom boasts a sleek set-up with a deep soaking bathtub, double vanities, closet space, a water closet, a walk-in shower, and more.

On the property, there is 1 refined restaurant, an inventive cocktail and cigar bar, private dining, and in-room dining.

You’ll enjoy plenty of complimentary amenities, including non-motorized water sports and snorkeling. You can check out the 25-meter infinity pool, yoga pavilion, and spa, too! There’s also a watersports center, a dive center, a library, a shopping boutique, a gym, a hydrotherapy pool, a meditation and relaxation area, and an expert concierge.

To book your Maldivian private island escape with COMO, expect to spend $1,100 per night during the off-peak season, $1,700 per night during the standard season, and up to $3,150 per night during the peak holiday season.

The glorious COMO Point Yamu is one of Thailand’s best luxury resorts — it overlooks the Andaman Sea and has dramatic views of Phang Nga Bay’s limestone cliffs.

Each of the property’s rooms and suites is a minimum of 484 square feet in size with views of the sea or the bay. Every room has 1 king bed or 2 twin beds, a private minibar, coffee and tea machines, a flat-screen TV, a work desk, a sitting area with 2 lounge chairs, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The bathroom is fully appointed, all the way from the single vanity and the magnifying lighted make-up mirror to the oversized walk-in rain shower and water closet. Lastly, you’ll revel in luxury with luxury COMO Shambhala bath products.

There are 2 full-service restaurants, a cocktail bar, a poolside barbecue experience, as well as a lobby lounge.

Here, you’ll also find a spa, a fitness center, and a lovely infinity pool with views of Phang Nga Bay. You can host weddings and events here, too.

This Thai resort is one of the most affordable COMO properties out there, costing just $200 per night during the off-season, $250 per night during the average season, and a maximum of $450 per night during the high season.

7. COMO Parrot Cay (Turks and Caicos)

This next property is arguably COMO’s most exclusive resort. Located on a private island in the Turks and Caicos, this slice of Caribbean paradise gets rave reviews for its 1,000-acre footprint, 4 miles of private white-sand beach, and so much more.

The light-filled rooms and suites are each a minimum of 618 square feet large and boast Indonesian 4-poster beds with white draping.

Other in-room amenities include a private verandah or sundeck, a desk, a sitting area with a large couch, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, coffee and tea machines, and, of course, a perfect king-sized bed.

The marble bathroom includes a single vanity, a walk-in rain shower, a wall-mounted magnifying mirror, a set of COMO Shambhala toiletries, and complimentary flip-flops.

Dining options are threefold — 2 full-service restaurants and a beachside club with cocktails and light fare.

You’ll also find plenty of wellness amenities like a Pilates studio, a yoga pavilion, an infinity pool, a fitness center, a spa, and even a tennis court. Event space is also available.

COMO Parrot Cay is our most expensive property, thanks to its remote private island located in the coveted Turks and Caicos. It’ll cost you $2,300 per night on average, though it’s possible to book rooms as low as $1,120 per night or as high as $6,500 per night.

8. COMO Uma Canggu (Indonesia)
