Avianca’s baggage allowance trends along the general lines of other large carriers in that your first one to two checked bags are included (depending on cabin class) with fees charged for additional pieces above your allowance.  These fees, in addition to those for overweight/ oversized baggage, are a bit more complicated and are highly weight & route dependent as you’ll see in our tables below.

  • Standard: 45 linear inches (115cm), up to 22lb (10kg)
  • LifeMiles Elite members (Gold and Diamond) & Gold Star Alliance passengers traveling in Business Class: 2 FREE carry-ons (22 lb each, 45 inches each)

Lap Infant Carry-On Policy

  • Infants 0-2 years, not occupying a seat: 1 piece (standard carry-on bag) up to 22lb, FREE
  • In addition to general use items, you may take special service items that you may need only for personal use. If they are for a third-party, you may transport them as free allowed baggage:  Diaper Bag In Use

*all checked bags must adhere to a max weight of 23kg (50lb) for Economy & Premium Economy;  32kg (70lb) for Business and First Class fares, and max linear dimensions of 158cm
