How Does the $300 Dining Credit Work?

It’s extremely easy to use the $300 dining credit. First, log in to your OpenTable account (or create a free account if you don’t already have one) and add your Chase Sapphire Reserve card. You can add your card at this link.

It’s that simple. And even better, there’s no need to preregister or enroll your card before making a purchase. And, of course, you earn 3x points on dining on your purchases.

Bottom Line:

When dining through the program, you can earn up to $150 in statement credits from January through June and again from July through December.

What Restaurants Are Eligible?

Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables features hundreds of the best, most popular restaurants available on OpenTable across the U.S. The list is curated by the restaurant-recommendation website The Infatuation (which is owned by Chase) and features Michelin-starred restaurants helmed by noted chefs, tables with monthslong waitlists, and the most Instagrammable cocktail bars in the country.

What’s interesting about the program is that Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders can book prime-time reservations. This is a pretty big deal — there’s nothing worse than trying to book a reservation at a popular restaurant only to find there’s no availability during dinner or late-night hours.

Additionally, the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables benefit includes access to special events at participating restaurants in some cities.

Before dining out, ensure that the restaurant you plan to visit participates in the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables program. The program is available at restaurants in the following cities:

  • Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Charleston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hawaii, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

You can find a list of the participating restaurants at this link.

There are pretty exciting restaurants on the list where you can maximize your dining credit. For instance, you can use your credit on a 7-course tasting menu at Meteora in Los Angeles, a live-fire establishment on Melrose Avenue that has earned a Michelin star.

Or, if you find yourself on the East Coast, you can enjoy New Orleans-style cuisine at Strange Delight, an oyster bar in the heart of Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood. The restaurant, which is notoriously difficult to score a reservation at, serves up dishes such as charbroiled oysters and fried green tomato sandwiches, as well as drinks you’d find along Bourbon Street, like daiquiris.

Final Thoughts

While the Chase Sapphire Reserve® has a fairly hefty annual fee, the issuer compensates with a full suite of impressive benefits.

Aside from the travel benefits, like lounge access and hotel elite status, Chase has made its premium card even more enticing with $300 annually in dining credits, which can be used at some of the best restaurants in the U.S.
