The Qatar Airways Visa Signature card is well worth it if you frequently fly Qatar or other Oneworld carriers.
Its most lucrative benefit is that cardholders immediately receive Qatar Airways Privilege Club Silver elite status upon approval, which is valid for 1 year. That status also grants Oneworld Ruby benefits, including priority check-in, preferred or prereserved seating, and priority when on waitlists or standby lists.
Privilege Club Silver elite status includes benefits such as a free checked bag, a 25% tier bonus on eligible Qatar flights, priority standby, priority check-in, priority boarding, a 20% discount on seat selection, and Qatar Airways lounge access. The downside? You only get status for the first year of card membership.
If you don’t already have Oneworld status and frequently fly Oneworld carriers, especially Qatar, this card’s benefits can easily outweigh the low annual fee.

Additionally, this is the only card available to U.S. travelers that offers Oneworld Sapphire status for the first year.
If you’re looking for a flexible rewards card with a reasonable annual fee that allows you to transfer your miles to Qatar Airways at a 1:1 ratio, the Capital One Venture X card is a solid choice.
You can earn 10x miles on hotels and rental cars purchased through Capital One Travel, 5x miles on flights and vacation rentals purchased through Capital One Travel, and 2x miles on all other purchases when spending on the card.
Although the annual fee is $395, the card offers an annual $300 travel credit for any purchase made through Capital One Travel, 10,000 miles each year on your cardmember anniversary, as well as access to Capital One Lounges and Priority Pass lounges.
