The American Airlines Admirals Club at London-Heathrow’s Terminal 3 has now reopened, a great development for passengers in the premium cabins, passengers with elite status, and Admirals Club members. The reopening of this Admirals Club marks one of the last club reopenings since the pandemic-induced closures.

Club Hours

The Heathrow Admirals Club is open from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., allowing customers from all American Airlines departures to the U.S. to use the lounge facilities.

Hot Tip: For more information about American Airlines Admirals Clubs, read our complete guide to the U.S. locations, including hours, location in the terminal, and more.

First Class Lounge

This Admirals Club is divided into 2 separate spaces: an Admirals Club and a separate First Class lounge, though this portion is not labeled as a Flagship Lounge or Flagship First Dining. While the Admirals Club portion of the space has reopened, the separate First Class lounge is expected to open this fall.

Who Can Access the Admirals Club at London-Heathrow?

There are several types of passengers who can access the lounge, including:

Amenities Inside

This Admirals Club includes several amenities you can use before departure:

  • Complimentary food and drinks (usually this location offers more options than a traditional Admirals Club).
  • Open bar.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi.
  • Showers (available on a first-come, first-served basis).
  • Ticketing assistance.

Other Lounge Options

Admittedly, the Admirals Club is not the best Oneworld lounge to use if you’re departing out of Terminal 3. There are several other (and much better) lounge offerings, including:

  • The Qantas International Lounge
  • Cathay Pacific Lounge, including a separate first class section
  • British Airways Galleries Lounge, including a separate first class section

Each of these lounges offers more food and drink options and is generally a more comfortable atmosphere, so if you’re eligible to use these spaces, you’ll likely want to check those out instead of visiting the Admirals Club.

Final Thoughts

The reopening of the Admirals Club at London-Heathrow will provide more lounge options for eligible passengers. For those that have an Admirals Club membership, this reopening is especially exciting, as there hasn’t been a good lounge option to use over the past several years.
