In addition to the solid welcome offer, the Amex Business Gold card has an incredible earning structure. It earns 4 points per $1 in the 2 categories (from a list of 6) where your business spends the most money each month. The card also earns 3x points on flights and prepaid hotels booked on AmexTravel.com.

The rewards earned are in the form of highly valuable American Express Membership Rewards points. We value Amex points at 2.2 cents each, the highest valuation for any transferable points currency

The Amex Business Gold card has a hefty $375 annual fee (rates & fees). However, it comes with lots of benefits, including several annual statement credits, which help reduce the card’s effective annual fee.

This includes up to $240 (enrollment required) for eligible U.S. purchases at FedExGrubhub, and office supply stores (up to $20 monthly), as well as up to $155 back annually for a monthly Walmart+ membership.

Let’s take a closer look at how to maximize the benefits of a Walmart+ membership.

Why a Walmart+ Membership Is So Valuable

Walmart+ provides incredibly valuable benefits. Image Credit: Walmart

With the shift to online shopping over the years, Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, introduced its subscription service, Walmart+, to consumers. It allows those who frequently shop at Walmart to take advantage of numerous perks and benefits with the service.

Walmart+ typically costs $12.95 per month (or $98 yearly). The Amex Business Gold card provides cardholders with a statement credit for 1 monthly Walmart+ membership fee (up to $12.95 plus applicable taxes) charged to the card account each month.

Here’s a look at some of the best perks of a Walmart+ membership.

1. Free Shipping at Walmart

I think Walmart+’s most valuable benefit is free shipping on items with no minimum purchase requirement. However, this excludes items not shipped by Walmart, such as those from Marketplace.

I am an impulse shopper at times, and I find the free shipping perk to be extremely convenient. It allows me to order items without worrying about picking them up.

2. Free Delivery From Your Local Store

Another excellent perk of Walmart+ is that members receive free grocery delivery with a $35 order minimum.

Although there is a Walmart less than 10 minutes from my home, I only go to the store once a month. Instead, I make grocery orders multiple times per month and enjoy the convenience of those orders being delivered directly to my door.

Members also get prescription orders as soon as the same day. Best of all, there is no order minimum for free prescription delivery.

3. Member Savings on Gas — Including Sam’s Club

Walmart+ members also get significant savings at gas stations across the country. Members can save 10 cents per gallon on fuel across Walmart, Murphy, Exxon, Mobil, and Sam’s Club gas stations.

In addition to the Walmart near my home, there is a Sam’s Club within 5 minutes of my house. This is a major perk for me, as Sam’s Club gas stations typically have the best gas prices.

Hot Tip:

The Amex Business Gold card isn’t the only one with a complimentary Walmart+ membership. The Platinum Card® from American Express includes this perk, too.

4. Complimentary Paramount+ Subscription

Walmart+ also provides members with a complimentary Paramount+ Essential plan subscription. This gives members access to 40,000 TV episodes, movies, and even live sports.

This subscription usually costs $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year. Since I now have complimentary Paramount+, I have canceled my subscriptions to other services like Netflix and Hulu.

5. Complimentary Pawp Membership

Walmart+ members also receive a complimentary Pawp membership. With Pawp, you can get 24/7 access to veterinary experts from your phone.

Although I only recently learned about this perk, it has greatly benefited me. When one of my pets was sick, I contemplated heading to the veterinary hospital for emergency services. Before doing so, I contacted an expert who provided me with incredibly useful information that saved me hundreds of dollars and a trip to the hospital.

Bottom Line:

Your Amex Business Gold card comes with a little-known perk — a monthly statement credit for Walmart+! If you haven’t joined already, head to the Walmart+ and Amex Business Gold card info page to sign up.
