Capital One is launching its Capital One Entertainment program for eligible cardholders. The new entertainment platform will provide 2 things for cardmembers — access to events worldwide and also the ability to use miles or cash back earned through individual credit cards for those experiences.

What Is Capital One Entertainment?

Powered by the worldwide platform Vivid Seats, there will be access to over 500,000 events — things like sporting events, concerts, culinary tours, theater shows, experiences, and all sorts of forms of entertainment.

Most credit card companies have some form of a program to provide the ability for card members to book these types of tickets. For example, American Express uses its American Express Concierge program where representatives search for these experiences and tickets wherever the cardmember is. The Capital One Entertainment arm will be Capital One’s version of entertainment access.

Hot Tip: Learn more about the best rewards credit cards for entertainment purchases in our detailed guide!

How To Book

You’ll be able to book both on the Capital One website and on the Capital One mobile app. You’ll be able to use Capital One miles, cash, or both miles and cash when booking an experience, however, some events or shows may be limited to specifically miles or specifically cash.

Credit Card Eligibility

If you hold one of the following cards, you’re eligible to participate in Capital One Entertainment:

Exclusive Experiences for Capital One Venture X Cardholders

While you’ll be able to use cash or miles on most experiences, some events are reserved only for Capital One Venture X cardmembers and can only be redeemed with miles, including:

  • NCAA Men’s Final Four and National Championship Game suite in New Orleans, as well as access to Capital One Jam Fest
  • iHeartCountry Music Festival premium seats, a private soundcheck party, artist interviews, and merchandise
  • James Beard Awards VIP tickets and dinner

Each of these experiences will go for 100,000 miles per person. While not cheap, these experiences generally can’t be purchased publicly (and if they can, they’d go for far more money than what you’re paying in miles).

Final Thoughts

It’s great to see Capital One expand into the entertainment arena, especially with the exclusive events that will be offered to premium credit cardholders. It’s convenient to be able to use either miles or cash to purchase packages, and some events will even be limited to Capital One cardmembers, which makes it even more valuable to hold a Capital One card.
