Update: This offer is no longer available. Please refer to our review of the Capital One Venture Rewards card for the most up-to-date offer on this product.

The Capital One Venture Rewards card continues to be a solid choice for a travel credit card, especially for those new to the world of points and miles. Recently, the card became even more compelling when Capital One doubled its welcome bonus offer from 50,000 to 100,000 miles.

Unfortunately, that welcome bonus offer is coming to an end today, July 19, 2021. So if you’ve been considering applying for the card with the increased bonus, today is your last chance.

CapOne Venture Card Welcome Bonus

Newly-approved cardholders can earn 100,000 bonus miles when they spend $20,000 on purchases in the first 12 months from account opening, or earn 50,000 miles if they spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. Earning a bonus of 100,000 Capital One miles is worth $1,400 based on our valuations!

Keep in mind that the CapOne Venture card also earns an unlimited 2x miles per dollar on every purchase you make with it. Plus it offers benefits like a Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit, no foreign transaction fees, and access to 18 different travel transfer partners.

Capital One offers a large selection of airline transfer partners for its Capital One Miles program, and transfer rates range from 1:1, 2:1.5, to 2:1, depending on the partner program. For the most part, you’ll want to focus on programs that offer a 1:1 rate in order to get the most value for your miles.

One such program is Avianca LifeMiles, which has an excellent sweet spot in its award chart that allows you to book one-way tickets between the U.S. and Europe in the luxurious Lufthansa first class for just 87,000 miles! Better yet, Avianca doesn’t pass on fuel surcharges from partner airlines, so instead of paying the exorbitant fuel surcharges that other airlines charge, you’ll pay just $5.60 to book your award!

Final Thoughts

The Capital One Miles program is often overlooked compared to more popular points and miles programs like Chase Ultimate Rewards and Amex Membership Rewards. However, Capital One Miles can really provide a lot of great value to travelers — and the CapOne Venture card is a great way to rack up those miles!

So if the CapOne Venture card seems like a great fit for your needs, and you want to take advantage of the larger welcome bonus, then make sure you apply for the offer ends on July 19, 2021!
