There’s another IHG option in Portugal’s capital city. The 121-room boutique-like hotel in Lisbon marks the second Vignette Collection property to open in Europe and the sixth worldwide, with IHG set to expand this lifestyle portfolio to 100 properties within 10 years.

Here’s everything that you need to know about the Convent Square Lisbon.

Convent Square Lisbon, Vignette Collection

On August 31, 2023, IHG opened the doors to Convent Square Lisbon, a 13th-century Dominican convent now converted to a lifestyle hotel in the city’s vibrant Baixa neighborhood.

The hotel’s wellness amenities include a sauna, fitness room, and indoor plunge pool. There’s also an original open-air cloister with seating set amongst tall trees and a fire pit. Art pieces exhibited throughout the hotel are by renowned Portuguese artists, including works by Pedro Calapez and Pedro Cabrita Reis.

The hotel offers a range of dining options with a former noble room housing the hotel’s all-day dining experience, Capitulo. The restaurant serves Chef Victor Sobral’s contemporary renditions of traditional Portuguese classics. Light bites and beverages are also served in the open-air cloister.

“We are delighted to see Convent Square Lisbon, Vignette Collection join IHG’s ever-expanding Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio,” said Tom Rowntree, Vice President of Luxury & Lifestyle Brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts. “Vignette Collection is unique – each property one-of-a-kind, with a distinct outlook and story to tell.”

Meanwhile, if you’d rather pay in cash, rates start at around $270 per night. Overall, that’s in line with our valuation of IHG One Rewards points at around 0.5 cents per point.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a boutique hotel in Lisbon but still want to earn or redeem points with a major brand, the Convent Garden Lisbon looks to be a solid option. With a unique style and a vibe that’s far from cookie-cutter, the Vignette Collection is a fascinating addition to the IHG lineup.
