Some big news from Delta Air Lines — the Atlanta-based carrier is reportedly bringing its Sky Club lounge network to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in 2024.

Here’s what you need to know.

Lounge Will Reportedly Be in New Concourse A

According to a report from The Charlotte Ledger, Delta plans to open a Sky Club Lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) Concourse A, which is still under construction.

A Delta spokesperson gave this statement to The Charlotte Ledger: “Delta Sky Club is looking forward to opening its first-ever location in Charlotte next year. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.”

Delta hasn’t released many details about the new lounge, so we don’t know when it will open or what amenities it may offer. Upgraded Points is working to confirm the report independently and will update this post when we hear back from Delta.

Of course, this is big news for Delta, which will open its second Sky Club lounge in North Carolina after Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU), a focus city for the airline.

This is a significant get for CLT — but a pretty big blow to American Airlines, which has a hub at CLT. The airline has 2 Admirals Club lounges at CLT in Concourses B and C. CLT also has a Centurion Lounge, The Club CLT, and Minute Suites lounges.

How To Get Delta Sky Club Access

Access to a Sky Club lounge is a boon for travelers looking to relax, eat and drink, or get some work done before a flight. However, Delta made sweeping changes to the program this year, and many were deeply unpopular with SkyMiles Medallion members.

Those who have the following credit cards can access Delta Sky Clubs when flying with Delta on a same-day ticket or with WestJet on a Delta-marketed ticket starting in 006:

Of note, the airline is capping access for the cards listed above starting February 1, 2025. Travelers flying on a Basic Economy ticket with a Sky Club membership (not through a credit card) will no longer have access to the Sky Club at all effective January 1, 2024.

Final Thoughts

This is pretty big news from Delta, as it’s making a big splash at CLT (an American hub) with a brand-new lounge. While we don’t have many details about the new Sky Club lounge, this is still excellent news for Delta passengers based in (or flying through) CLT!
